Since you used chalk paint on the rest of the table, could you ideally just strip the top where you used the driftwood treatment and rough up the finish where
the chalk paint was used prior to painting?

was French Linen, then I dry brushed Paris Gray over the top.
This
paint must have a very high ammonia content because within a few hours after completing the stools I smelled a very strong and distinct «cat pee» smell that
was driving me crazy... I
used vintage grain / feed sacks to upholster the seats and at first I thought maybe that
was the problem... but upon further investigation I realized that every square inch of wood that has the Amy Howard
chalk paint on it smells like ammonia... every.single.inch.

use so don't
be afraid to try it!
If you
use chalk paint, many times you don't need to sand (though you can't rely on this every time — every surface
is different).
I've done this for years now but saved a bit of money by
using cheap craft
paint as
chalk paint can
be expensive in Canada.
So if you
are going to
use inexpensive plastic, fillable eggs then you will need to
use chalk paint on them (or prime them 1st... pain in the rear).
Tip:
using cardstock becomes a little messy... if you
are using chalk paint you can always sand down the sloppy edges and then finish it off with a dry brush technique in the old white to fade some of the those not so nice spots.

'm renovating a kitchen dresser with a hutch (first time ever
using chalk paint).

used it on my DIY
chalk painted pieces and I'd say it
's pretty durable - want to go with those full three coats for something hardy.

'm SO happy it made you happy:) I actually
used some Row Boat Blue I had left over from my dining room and made some
chalk paint with it
using Plaster of Paris.

used, can the remainder
be covered and reused.

So, how does one

It wouldn't
be ideal for a full piece to
use chalk paint over the wax because I would
be worried about adherence, but when doing an accent like a whitewash, the incredible adherence of
chalk paint works just fine.
So the
chalk paint I did
was total trial and error: / so while I don't have an exact color or portion, I
used the grey
paint from my dining room — woodsmoke, and then the
paint in my kitchen — horizon.
I
use a mix of
chalk paint (the white base
is a Rustoleum
chalk paint product) and acrylic (for the actual flowers).
