The Calcium Carbonate Powder does not get thick, grainy, or lumpy like the other DIY
chalk paint mixtures do.
I use Villa Barnes» homemade
chalk paint mixture: 2/3's any paint and 1/3 gesso.

I am new to
chalk painting and have been using the plaster of paris
mixture.
I would test it out using a small amount of the
paints — latex + craft to see what happens when it is mixed into a DIY
chalk type
paint mixture.
You can make
chalk paint using many different ingredients — all of them work, some might make up grittier or different consistency
mixtures, but they all add the
chalk base that gives the latex
paint the great adhesion power and flat look.
