in love with it.
I also use
chalk paint, it dries so quick and comes
in handy for
projects I want to
paint and finish quickly!
If I were using it
in my home for regular use, I'd seal with a simple flat clear sealer like I used
in this
project for the Annie Sloan
Chalk Painted Pots.
While
paints would be an acceptable medium for this
project,
chalk was perfect, easy to apply, and really gave my 3 - year old a lesson
in coloring on textured surfaces.
We took the backing off the mirror, took the mirror out and put it away for safe keeping (ya know,
in case I want to use it for some random diy
project in the future) and then I
painted the frame with a couple coats of
Chalk Paint ®
in Pure White.

Even though this
project isn't
chalk paint, maybe something
in the paper (or glue on the back of it) causes the yellowing as well.
I went through my
paint supply and found leftover
paint from a few previous
projects — I had on hand Annie Sloan

in Pure White and Amy Howard One Step
Paint in Atelier (link below).
Also I don't have a pic of it now, but the light purple
in her comforter is a perfect match
in the purple
in the gray
paint This really was the perfect
project for this
chalk based
paint.
I had a few options at this point: I could
paint regular latex
paint which I had from another
project in a dark gray, I could
paint chalk paint from another
project with a light blue / gray tint, I could spray another layer of
chalk paint on it and pray it does a little better than round one, or I could try spraying it with regular spray
paint in a dark gray.
If I wasn't writing posts, working on social media and editing photos and graphics, I was out
in the garage working on a few
chalk paint projects.

The base I
chalk painted in a great dark navy color from American Paint which I had leftover from my british flag trunk
project.
Great post, Traci — the point you made is that
chalk paint may not be the right choice for EVERY
project, so how wonderful to have a color match
in a latex
paint!
We love how this
project turned out and how she used
chalk paint to turn her fireplace into a cozy focal point
in her space.

a. Print out words you like
in a font that suits your
project b. Rub the back of the paper with
chalk c. Tape the paper to your
project lightly d. Trace around the edge of the letters to transfer the word e. Fill
in with
paint pen 13.
I have been so tempted to use
chalk paint in my d.I.Y
projects but have been so confused by all the different receipts for it online.
DIY
chalk paint has been on my list for a while, but sadly there are still many (MANY)
projects in front of it.
For this
project, I used my Silhouette Cameo and Annie Sloan
chalk paint in «Arles».
This was a fun
project where we
painted the concrete subfloor
in our basement bedroom using Royal Design Studio's Skylar's Lace stencil and Annie Sloan
Chalk Paint.
