SO many blogs rave about how easy it is to make their
own chalkpaint, but I get a glumped mess.
It is called Mellow Yellow by Benjamin Moore and I painted it with
DIY Chalkpaint — I have a full tutorial on that piece here.
I used Annie
Sloan Chalkpaint in Graphite... the first coat went on really weird, like I was nervous my ORC was going to be shut down in an instant, but then, they dried and it worked.
And now the top of my desk is leftover with
unfinished chalkpaint half way through because I gave up since I wasn't getting a full cover up and smooth finish.

Annie Sloan's
chalkpaint product is wonderful, but I didn't want to drive a long distance to get it or pay the $ 30 - $ 40, so I started looking for recipes to make a chalk - style paint.

Deanne started by painting the base of the table Annie Sloan's
Chalkpaint ® in Old white.
She gave it two coats of turquoise
DIY chalkpaint, distressed it, glazed it and coated it in clear wax.
Homemade Chalkpaint: Add 1 teaspoon or less of cornstarch or unsanded grout to a 2 oz bottle of craft paint, mix and apply.

To lighten and brighten my favorite space I repainted the mirror with Pure White Annie
Sloan Chalkpaint and leaned it on the mantle.
I just wanted to stop by and let you know that you have given me so much inspiration when it comes to painting
with chalkpaint.
I painted my bathroom vanity a light grey (with
chalkpaint) and it definitely has a light blue look to it.
The chalkpaint goes a long way (if you decide to buy some!)

No I hardly ever sand any pieces I'm going to
chalkpaint.
If you use
chalkpaint you don't need to sand the painted parts.
I like
the chalkpaint signs and what to try something like that.
I've used DIY
chalkpaint a lot (I use plaster of paris) and it always works perfectly EXCEPT when I've tried white.
think you are talking about a blackboard / chalkboard surface as opposed to
a Chalkpaint ie flat milk like paint not meant for writing on with chalk but as a flat finish on furniture.
That being said, I have used Annie Sloan's
chalkpaint, and I. LOVE.
