Another option that has the potential to
change the car's character significantly is a
set of adaptive
dampers.
Other
changes on the Wraith include a marginally quicker steering rack (now three turns lock - to - lock rather than the 3.2 of the Ghost), increased roll control thanks to tweaked anti-roll technology, revised spring and
damper settings for the air suspension, a 24 mm wider rear track for greater cornering stability, and extra strengthening for the under - body to compensate for the lack of a B - pillar.

settings for the electric power steering, intended to make it feel more naturally weighted, complete the mechanical
changes.
What is amazing is that you can
change the
damper, suspension and drive modes (Comfort, Sport, Sport +) on the fly and hence we really could experiment with most of the
settings while driving.
The system not only
changes the characteristics of the Sport Hybrid SH - AWD but in addition
changes the characteristics of 11 component
sets including steering, brakes (via regenerative characteristics), engine and electric drive, throttle, gearbox, suspension (via adaptive
dampers) and, of course, stability and traction control.
Enhancing the Astra's dynamic performance still further is the option of Vauxhall's clever FlexRide system, a rarity in this sector which offers drivers three unique
damper settings — standard, sport and tour — while being fully adaptive to
changes in driving style and cornering speed.
The driver can use the «S / C / M» mode button in the centre console to select from the «Sport», «Comfort» and «Manual» shift programmes that not only
change the transmission characteristics but also the accelerator response and the spring /
damper settings of the AMG sports suspension based on Active Body Control.
Things have
changed below the surface too, with revised suspension
settings including a stiffer front end and altered spring and
damper rates for less body roll and better stability, along with a retune for the electric power steering system.
The new automatic ride control eliminated the need to compromise
damper settings between the softness necessary for good ride comfort and the stiffness needed to limit roll on corners by adapting within split - seconds to
changes in road conditions.
Cadillac says the ELR will be a pleasure to drive thanks to stiffer body structure, electronically controlled, variable - rate
dampers; and an available sport program that
changes throttle response, steering effort and
damper settings.

Damper Control and the Electric Power Steering.
The
set - up switch electronically
changes the
settings on the Bilstein DampTronic
dampers, specially developed for the Nissan GT - R.
Changing from the Normal to the Sports Mode, the system alters not only the Servotronic control map, but also the
damper setting, with the connection of the
dampers to the body of the vehicle being significantly reinforced in the Sports Mode.
