in sampling design, gear and preservation techniques, and taxonomic resolution
over the years.
«Understanding the major step
changes in land utilisation
over the last 80 - 100 years provides a unique understanding of the drivers within
changing land - use that might have the most significant impact on pollinator
communities,» Dr Senapathi says.
Whereas there is still a significant controversy
over how to assess an individual teacher's effectiveness, Whitehurst believes that
change in approach was driven by the research
community, especially economists «who came to this topic because all of sudden there were resources — data resources and research support resources.»
«
Over the next few decades, the majority of birds currently found across the National Park System are expected to experience
changes in climate conditions, which on average may lead to turnover of nearly a quarter of the bird
community per park,» says Gregor Schuurman, co-author on the study.
«The Illinois State Museum is deeply respected
in the scientific
community for the expertise of its curators and for its irreplaceable collection of archaeological, cultural, and paleontological artifacts,» says paleoecologist Jack Williams of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, who has used the Neotoma database to explore vegetation
change over the past 20,000 years on a continental and global scale.
«For any dataset with a dynamic component, people can now use this
in a powerful way to find
communities that persist and
change over time,» said Kathryn Roeder, the UPMC Professor of Statistics and Life Sciences

The committee has prepared a report that,
in my view, provides policy makers and the scientific
community with a critical view of surface temperature reconstructions and how they are evolving
over time, as well as a good sense of how important our understanding of the paleoclimate temperature record is within the overall state of scientific knowledge on global climate
change.
Several reasonable explanations arise given these results: (1) all players were exercising, and exercise produces predictable
changes in skin habitat conditions that are likely to affect bacterial
communities over time; (2) players were acquiring microbial transients from the built environment; and (3) players were coming into repeated physical contact with their teammates and those from opposing teams, often using the sampled area of their upper arms, and potentially sharing portions of their skin microbiomes.
Their work is starting to reveal how diverse ecological
communities can
change and adapt
over time, putting to the test ideas developed out
in the field about how organisms adapt to one another as well as to their environment.
When the localities are also organized chronologically, as they are
in the Burke vertebrate paleontology collections, I can trace how those
communities changed over time.
Major consequences of such
changes over regional scales will probably include (1) reductions
in primary production combined with (2) shifts from diatom - dominated (low SA: V ratio) phytoplankton assemblages with high POC - export efficiencies to picoplankton
communities (high SA: V ratio) characterized by low export efficiencies (Smith et al., 2008; Morán et al., 2010; Morán et al., 2015).
The big takeaway from this study: While there is uncertainty
in projections for
changes in the climate indices reviewed here (especially El Niño and La Niña), this study serves to alert us to the fact that the climate impacts that our local coastal
communities face are based
in large part on
changes that occur on both a large, global scale and
over the long, decadal term.
While the ongoing costs of impunity
in the Ayotzinapa case are unclear, the work of the international human rights
