Participants will learn how to use evidence to ground an area of focus, set goals that are tied to the larger context of school and district learning, and establish objectives that explicitly connect a problem of student learning with
specific changes in instructional practice.
New approaches to teacher evaluation, combined with comprehensive professional development for teachers and school leaders and changes in the organization and capacities of school districts, can support the types of teacher knowledge acquisition and
changes in instructional practices called for by the Common Core Standards and assessments.
