As for this film: the ethical dilemmas that crop up are brushed
over and done away with, and
of course, all must be set right by the end, but in all The
Change - Up is a fun, stupid
movie - and I mean that as a compliment.
When nobody involved has any sense
of urgency about their mission, when every few moments somebody feels the need to stop and SLOWLY expound on «We took their land from them» and the like, when one and all have to quickly
change their socio - ethnic worldview
over the
course of the picture, your
movie quickly outstays its welcome.
Instead,
over the
course of the
movie, as revelations come to light (particularly for the other characters in the
movie) and the story dips and turns, it's not so much our allegiances that
change, as our understanding
of the decisions that have been made and choices taken.
