The Nook Simple Touch can
change font size on PDFs - though not for scanned PDFs.

The main reason I have stuck with Nook is that one can
change the font size on any file e.g. downloaded file from free e-book sites.
Changing the font size on the device only adjusts the size of the margins, not the actual text and formatting.
