The focus on providing better care to the
dogs in our possession has led to many
changes over the last several years including creating playgroups, having volunteer
dog walkers,

dogs with kennel buddies to prevent boredom while they await their new

change, and while most amaze us with their resilience and adaptability, others find the transition to a new home and
family very stressful.
Ren was adopted from NYCSR about six weeks ago, but his adopted
family does a lot of traveling and, being a fearful
dog, Ren was finding it difficult getting comfortable
in an ever
changing environment.
For example, if one member of a
family, with whom the
dog was closest, leaves or dies, the
dog may start exhibiting behavioral
changes unless the surviving member of the
family puts time
in with the
dog.
