changes to the award chart starting NOV 1st.
There's
no changes to the award chart at this time.

SkyMiles is the loyalty program that many love
to hate, and this chorus of negativity has only swelled with the airline's most recent
changes (including removing
award charts from its website and expansion of its basic economy fares).
United Airlines
changed its
award chart last year
to create separate categories for partner
awards in business or first class.
So the simple explanation for this
award chart change is those US Airways flights will no longer exist and it would actually be impossible
to book them.

After the
award chart was dropped, Hilton stopped releasing updates on rate

While any devaluation is always unwelcome news, Hyatt goes a long way toward making up for the still conservative

It's hard
to say with a straight face that we didn't see a devaluation coming, but the
changes in the new United
award chart are absolutely eye - watering.
American Airlines announced several sweeping
changes to its loyalty program last year, including a devalued
award chart, fewer upgrades for elite members, and plans
to begin
awarding miles on the basis of revenue — rather than distance — sometime in 2016.
These programs haven't had major
Award / Reward
chart changes in quite a while, and I wouldn't be surprised
to see some kind of a
change over the next year.
Between the lies surrounding the AAdvantage / British Airways
award charts, the leaked information about the
changes to AAdvantage and now the half - baked Premium Economy cabin announcement, they look like an amateur outfit not used
to dealing with the number of flyers they have (which is certainly true of the former US Airways executives).
One of the most interesting
changes to the new
award chart, however, comes at the lowest redemption level.
This rebranding came with significant
changes to the program including eliminating an
award chart, points pooling, a new points slider, and a few other key features.
This is an interesting converse
to United's decision
to greatly increase its partner
award charts while imposing modest
changes on its own flights.
The exact same flight booked with American miles starts at 35,000 miles (or 30,000, after March 22, 2016, because of
changes to American's
award chart).
Although there have not been any
changes announced (yet...) for Alaska Airlines» partner
award charts, they announced today some devaluations
to their own
award chart.
In all honesty, short of going
to a revenue - based
award chart, this is the worst
change that could be made in my opinion.
Yesterday, while most people's attention was focused on the addition of Premium Economy redemptions
to the Singapore Airlines
award chart (more on that in a separate post), the airline slipped in a
change to the
charts in a way that increased the cost of Premium Cabin Saver
Awards to certain European cities.
Book them as soon as possible, because we don't exactly know what time the
award chart is going
to change.
