Of course it would be silly
to suggest that winning any game, cup or otherwise, isn't good for the club, but let's remember just how problematic FA Cup success has been for this club... I'm certainly not going
to suggest I didn't enjoy seeing Arsenal win, I'm a fan of this club first and foremost, but how bad are things when you find yourself secretly wishing that your own team lost
so that just maybe real
change would finally come... I resent this team for even making me feel such thoughts and it's going
to take a lot of effort on their part
to earn my trust again... this club has treated the fans
so poorly that it has created an incredibly fragile and toxic environment,
so much
so that a «what have you done for me lately» mentality has emerged... fans rise and fall depending on the results of each game because we don't have faith in those in charge
to make the necessary
changes to personnel and tactics... each time we win many fans attack any dissenting voices and make unrealistic claims about the players, the manager and the potential for unprecedented success... every time we lose the boo - birds run rampant, calling for heads
to roll and predicting the worst... regardless of what
side you fall on, it's not your fault, both
sides are simply overcompensating for the horrible state of affairs that have been percolating for several years... it's hard
to take the long view when those in charge have lied incessantly and refuse
to take any responsibilities for their own actions... in the end, we are trapped by the same catch - 22 that ManU faced upon Fergie's exit... less fearful of maintaining the status quo than facing the unknown, which was validated, wrongly or rightly, by witnessing the difficulties they have faced during this transitory period...
to be honest, the thing that scares me most is that this team has never prepared whatsoever for this eventuality, which considering our frugal nature and the way we have shunned many of our most revered former players is more than a little disconcerting

nice
to see you crawl out of your hole just in time
to offer your 2 cents worth once again... unlike yourself I started following this team long before Wenger arrived on the scene and will continue
to do
so long after he's gone... in his earlier years I admired the cerebral elements he brought
to the EPL, which at that point was more brutish than beautiful, and I respected the seemingly tireless efforts of Arsene, Dein & staff
to uncover and develop talent without sacrificing the product on the field... likewise I appreciated that such a youthful manager wasn't afraid
to bring strong personalities and / or world - class players into the fold without being fearful of how said players would potentially undermine and / or dilute his authority... unfortunately this all
changed about 10 years ago and culminated in the removal of all our greatest players, both young and old, without any real replacements coming in... from Henry
to RVP
to Fabergas and Nasri, it was easy
to see that this club was no longer interested in competing at the highest levels... instead of being honest, minus the ridiculous claims regarding the new stadium, Wenger chose
to side with management and in doing
so became the «front man» for this corporation pretending
to be a world - class soccer club... without the «front man» this organization would have been exposed numerous years earlier,
so his presence was imperative if the facade was
to continue... it's for this reason and more that I despise what this once great man and Kroenke has done
to my beloved club... the gutless, shameful and manipulative way they have treated the fans, like myself, is largely indefensible and this is why I felt it necessary
to start offering my opinion in a public format... trust me, I resisted the temptation for many years but as long as the same shit continues
to exist I will voice my opinions and if you don't like it maybe you should look for a different team
to pretend
to follow

He then moves on

Oxy is the one that has that ability
to do it but again Wenger plays players on the right
side so he doesn't have
to alter his style of play in the middle Until he or some other manager with a different attitude
changes the style we will never achieve the days of Henry.
Well after all the talk about Arsenal tactical
changes to face a Burnley
side that is very strong at Turf Moor and questions about which of the Gunners returning from injury might make their way back into the Arsenal team today, Arsene Wenger has decided
to stick with the same staring XI that did
so well against Liverpool last week.
This is an incredibly difficult question
to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only
to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel
to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards
to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd,
so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems
to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through
so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early
to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency
to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs
to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious
to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right
side wing - back
so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently
to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks
so too... Xhaka is a little too slow
to ever boss the midfield and he tends
to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed
to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready
to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him
to use Francis and then he had the nerve
to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary
to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed
to protect the defensive zone
so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends
to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little
to no sense considering what he has
to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford
to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London,
so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try
to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards
to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair
to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went
to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had
to choose one of those 3 players
to stay on it would be Ox due
to his potential as a plausible alternative
to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue
to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all
change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due
to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem
to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence...
so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this
side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold
to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction
to heroin without the benefits
Laca has a beard -
so does Giroud.Other than the fact they are both French there is no comparison.Give this kid (yeah I know he's 26 but that's still young at my age) the service and he will be a top top player.Look at his movement and see how frustrated he gets as the ball continually goes from
side to side and backwards.I see a lot of Ian Wright in this boy but even Wrighty would struggle with the way we are set up and play. When Sánchez is gone he will become our main man and just watch the difference.Remember those days when the football was slick and fast?Remember when we had pace all through the team and had players who knew how
to use it?When we
change manager a bring in a coach who gets the best from players by playing
to their strength you will see a totally different Lacazette and Arsenal
Guardiola's
side remain on course for a treble this season with the world - class options already available
to him, and
so it's debatable as
to whether making such a big
change would be a sensible move, albeit Griezmann offers a longer - term option
to Aguero given he's still only 26.
Although we do not like
to gloat on other teams injuries we have
to admit that it is usually our players that come back from international duty with long term injuries,
so maybe luck is actually on our
side for a
change....
There were always going
to be some
changes made by Arsene Wenger
to the Arsenal starting XI for this third round FA cup clash with Preston North End, but the boss has kept faith with the competition that has been
so good
to him and the club and gone for a pretty strong Gunners
side.
but now all of you are
changing your opinions just
to be on the «I told you
so» -
side..
Also you can never rule out money
changing hands under tables, am sure there are more
sides to consider, there is still
so much the average fan will never get
to understand about the game.
So the manager now has
to consider whether
to just play his strongest Arsenal
side in both of these EPL games, or whether
to plan for a few
changes for the Leicester game.
The boss then must surely make many
changes for our League Cup match against Reading tomorrow,
so as
to give our tired stars a chance
to recover for the next League game at Sunderland next weekend, although our manager is keen for us
to get back
to winning ways against the Championship
side.
There is a very old football cliche that you can only beat what is put in front of you, but when you consider that Arsenal's opponents yesterday had made TEN
changes from the Hull
side that played Everton on New Years Day, should we really be
so pleased that the Gunners only managed
to kill off the game in the 82nd minute?
Selhurst Park was rocking from start
to finish as Hodgson's
side look
to now carry this momentum on and
change the course of their
so - far disappointing season.
Even though Arsene Wenger made a complete
change to the Arsenal starting line from the weekend draw away
to Chelsea in the Premier League, he was still not willing
to take too many chances in this Carabao cup game at home
to Doncaster,
so the visitors were facing a strong Gunners
side including Walcott, Giroud and Alexis Sanchez up front.
I can only hope that this attempt is taken more seriously than the largely muted and clearly unsuccessful protests of late last season... although the plane writing escapade brought some much - needed attention
to the matter, it failed
to resonate with fence - sitters and those who had just recently fell off the Wenger truck... without a big enough showing of support the whole endeavor appeared relatively weak and poorly organized, especially
to the major media outlets, whose involvement could have significantly
changed what was
to follow... but I get it, few wanted
to turn on their club, let alone make a public display of their discord... problem is, they are preying on that vulnerability, in fact, their counting on you
to keep your thoughts
to yourself... who are you
to tell these fat cats how
to steal your money... they have worked long and hard
to pull the wool over your eyes... they even went
so far as
to pay enormous sums of cash
to your once beloved professor
to be their corporate spokesmodel
so that the whole thing would be more palatable... eventually the club made it appear as if this was simply a relatively small fringe group of highly radicalized supporters, which allowed the pro-Wenger element inside the club hierarchy
to claim victory following the FA Cup win... unfortunately what has happened
to this club can't be solved by FA Cups or a few players coming in, the very culture of this club needs
to be
changed and that starts at the top... in order
to change the unhealthy and dysfunctional narrative that has absorbed this club we need
to remove everyone who presently occupies a position of power... only then can we get back
to the business of playing championship caliber football, which should always be the number one priority of this organization... on an important
side note, one of the most devastating mistakes made in the final days of this hectic and poorly planned transfer window didn't have
to do with the big name players like Sanchez or Lemar, but the fact that they failed
to secure Jadon Sancho, who might even start for Dortmund this season... I think they might seriously regret this oversight... instead of spending
so much time, energy and manpower pretending that they were desperately trying
to make big moves, they once again lost the plot due
to their all too familiar tunnel vision
So, Martinez's agent, Scott Boras, and the Red Sox spent the weekend seeing doctors and writing in language
to protect both
sides without
changing the monetarily value of the deal.
Yes, but sadly i think now the problem has become
so endemic it is going
to be on the wrong
side of a nasty season or two, we need a manager who can tear everything up and start again from nothing, Spurs are used
to that, but our systems and organisation have not seen significant
change in 20 years, it takes a lot more rebuilding
Please you guys should stop this chambers, i really hate Costa for his antics but i watched the match on tv and
so the way he behaved throughout the game, i thinkers he has
changed... early in the second half Chambers prevented a tap - in from Pedro and ended up landing in post, Pedro left his
side only for Diego Costa
to show up and check on him #class
These players have the capacity
to change an average
side into a good one, a good one into a very good one and
so on.
We can't see any reason why Qarabag would make any
changes to the
side which caused Atletico Madrid
so much trouble in their recent encounters.
The Gunners have not had luck with injuries
so far this term and has forced Arsene Wenger
to chop and
change his back three more often than any other
side in the top six.
Chris Hughton doesn't seem
to be too keen on making big
changes ahead of this game,
so we're expecting him
to stick with their regular
side.
With four competitions
to compete in, squad rotation is going
to be a big part of the next couple of months,
so we should see a
changed Chelsea
side heading out at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
