The modern ear adapted by
channeling sound waves onto an elastic membrane (the eardrum), causing it to vibrate.
The proposed device, reported in the March 20 Physical Review Letters, would
channel sound waves in a protected one - way thoroughfare along its edge.

When
sound waves wash over the microvilli, they wiggle and the mechanical stimulation causes the
channel to open.
Sound waves, amplified by the outer hair cells (shown above right), vibrate the inner hair cells, opening ion
channels on their surface that let neurotransmitters flow in.
By carefully tailoring the angle and frequency of the
sound wave to the length of the
channel and size of the particles, they can push any particle bigger than 1,000 nanometers into a separate
channel.
We sought to explore the outer reaches of the Game Boy's 8 - bit CPU / 4 - bit
sound chip, especially it's dynamic
wave channel sound manipulation capacity.
When a
sound travels into the inner ear, from the pinna (outer ear), the
waves are
channeled to the eardrum (also called the tympanic membrane) which signals the inner ear bones through vibration.
S - Force PRO Front Surround mimics the way the brain correlates
sound sources to create proper volume, time lag, and
sound wave spectrum — using only left and right speaker
channels.
