characters are generic enough, and the relationships simple enough, that you can pick up the tracks

Writer - director Leslie McCleave knows how to stir the pot, dropping various weird or menacing

couple's path, but by the end of the movie's 92
minutes it still isn't soup yet.

Indeed Sidibe's Jamaican sass - monster
character seems to disappear for the last 20
minutes of the heist itself (which is jarring since there's a shot that seems to set up a scene that we never see), but there are a
couple of physics - defying moments
in the big set piece that managed to keep the audience gasping (and would have been heart - stopping on an IMAX screen).
But at a longish 2 hours and 14
minutes, the movie never gets to addressing what happened to Owens after the 1936 Olympics, other than a quick rundown of the fate of the main
characters (Owens remained with girlfriend, then wife Ruth Solomon until his death
in 1980, the movie tells us, and the
couple had two more children).
