characters as if they were living in the real world, likely similar to the AR Games application that comes pre-loaded
on every Nintendo 3DS system.
The cards are a more portable form of
amiibo that can be used with the game to design a house for the
character on the card.
On March 18, new
amiibo figures in the Animal Crossing series will launch in stores, including
characters like Timmy & Tommy, Kapp»n and Rover.
Tapping any of the Kirby series
amiibo figures like Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight or Waddle Dee will permanently unlock a new colorful costume for Qbby based
on that
character.

I've got 3
Amiibo myself
on a shelf next to a collection of roughly twenty Marvel
characters from Disney Infinity because I've never had a problem finding any Infinity figure I wanted.
While
characters from these franchises aren't
on the mainstream side of gaming, they certainly deserve recognition, and I'm glad
amiibo are giving the spotlight where it's due.
