At
times this can be a very gut and heart wrenching film, and really
awkward and uncomfortable, but it is presented in a respectful manner with
characters that are very well developed and interesting.
The scenery, textures, lighting and effects look absolutely amazing, but the
character movements can be a little
awkward at

Plaza does a respectable job as the lead role, although her
character is so
awkward and manic that it can make audiences uncomfortable at
times, but it is a testament to her

characters aren't very compelling (or likable, for that matter) apart from Travis Fimmel's socially
awkward sperm donor, who disappears around the 30 - minute mark never to be heard from again.
The
character of Bernie is
awkward and quirky, but Gisondo manages to give him sympathy while at the same
time make him a viable candidate for the small town.
Davies is ideally

times unsettlingly so, as Sonny, snugly fitting into the

You can imagine the adorably pretentious, at
times painfully
awkward characters gathering around this jacket, debating why the rock is there and what it stands for, none of them willing to say maybe a rock is just a rock.
That said I found it at
times difficult to keep track of all the
characters and all the different story lines, I think there were at least seven, and in the conversations between the
characters seemed forced and oftentimes stilted and
awkward.
However, putting the style of speech aside my criticism of the dialogue between
characters stands; conversations simply feel stiff and
awkward most of the
time, something which will hopefully be sorted out as the series continues.
School life is just as important as magic however; a lot of
time will be spent meeting and befriending the varied cast of
characters, taking on quests,
awkward attempts at dating and a host of side activities.»
