battle), the game also features an awakening system, called the «Seventh Sense» awakening, unlike the NUNS awakening system which became severely unbalanced
in the later game, every
character simply gains a damage / defense boost, with the conditions being the same for all
characters, eliminating situations when one
character can use awakening at almost any point
in the
battle, or one awakening being drastically stronger than the other, the game has a story mode with three story arcs used to unlock
characters, a collection mode, tournament modes, a survival mode, a series of special versus modes and online
battle modes.
He doesn't just
fall in battle, though; he also gets an extremely overwrought death scene with the movie's main
characters mournfully standing around as he tells them he's going to...
Outside of
battle, you build your own castle, interact with the various
characters you've recruited, and watch scenes
in which they build relationships with each other — and sometimes,
fall in love and have children.
Some
characters treat your avatar as an asset
in battle while others will
fall in love with you.

When the
characters, units
in your army,
fall in battle, players don't fail the level; they merely lose that
character for the rest of the game.
Fallen Legion's furious
battle system has players control up to four
characters simultaneously
in real - time combat.
I spent almost as much time
battling as I did strategizing exactly which
characters I would have fight together to create bonds,
fall in love and have super-cool time traveling children.
In fact, the game even knows this because it has a feature where, for no penalty, you can choose to raise all your
characters five levels and try the
battle again if you
fall.
Felled foes, including monstrous boss
battles that introduce more intricate combat challenges, drop experience points that aid you
in levelling your
character assortment, granting access to an ever increasing skill set that deepens
battle scenarios as the game progresses.
In Classic mode, once a
character falls they are gone for the entirety of the game, whereas Casual mode enables the
characters to return to life once the
battle has ended.
