on the taxes and fees since all
flights have to be operated by US Airways and Aeroplan

While Virgin Atlantic

You should be able to lower the fees by booking
flights on American Airlines, but keep in mind that the milage requirement will go up since Iberia
charges more miles for certain partners and you can't book one - way
awards on American Airlines with Iberia.
Fortunately, frequent flyer programs can
charge the same number of miles for an
award on tomorrow's
flight as they
charge for reservation next year.

on its
awards so, when you book an
award flight, any cash element is purely the local taxes due.....
Unlike some loyalty programs, American AAdvantage will not
charge you more miles for
award flights on their partners or
flights on British Airways.
But while
award flights on most carriers include an assigned seats and a carry -
on bag, Spirit will
charge you for all those unbundled services, even
on a supposedly free
award ticket.
For example, some programs
charge $ 600 + for transatlantic
award flights on certain airlines, such as British Airways, Iberia, Lufthansa and Air France.
It's worth noting that Aegean will

flights British Airways offers «Reward
Flight Saver» («RFS»)
awards which are
awards where you pay Avios plus a low flat fee instead of the taxes, fees and carrier
charges.
Flexi
awards gives you access to any seat
on an in - demand
flight for twice the miles typically required, which is better than many airlines that
charge three to four times the lowest rate for this privilege.
Even though you don't earn elite miles
on award tickets and I value my airline elite status greatly, there's something extremely satisfying about booking an expensive domestic
flight and only paying $ 2.50 in fees, which is what most carriers
charge per segment
on domestic US
flights (plus any ticketing fees).

award trip.
