's important to have your
cheat meals!
For me, the term «
cheat meal» sets the stage for a bad relationship with food: if you say you
're cheating on a diet or that you
are eating «bad» foods, then you
're also saying that there
are «good foods».
However, denying yourself your favorite food for months can suck, especially in terms of motivation, so it
's best to have one
cheat meal every week, where you can
eat big quantities of whatever you want.
After 21 days (given that you've
been consistent and didn't allow yourself any
cheat meals), you will witness some significant changes in your body composition and will never want to
eat any other way.
Even though nutritionists
are advising people to use desserts in the form of
cheat meals a coping mechanism while on a certain diet,
eating them in excess
is almost always unhealthy and can create lots of issues.
On
cheat meals I honestly believe that you can have your cake and
eat it too; my favourite treats would have to
be ice cream, pizza, cheeseburgers, and margaritas!
And the worst part
is that
eating cheat meals usually causes a chain reaction.

eat whatever foods you want for those

are not Paleo foods.

I started

Unlike paleo, people who
are on the Whole30 diet can not
eat naturally occurring sugar sources (like honey and agave nectar),
eat imitation foods (like gluten - free pumpkin pancakes), have any «
cheat meals,» or drink any alcohol.
Carb cycling
is definitely the best way to get around this but I've noticed that one good
cheat meal (
eating anything I want) every 3 weeks will tend to keep things moving along.

cheated on the gluten - free diet, it took 7 weeks of

cheat - low sodium days)-- Funny thing
is, my clothes
are looser and looser --
When I start thinking about
cheat meals I just focus my attention on the picture (
s) of the great looking abs and suddenly my mind
is back in line with the healthy
eating.
When they
're eating clean, they
're focused on that, but they
're always thinking about their next
cheat meal.
Once you feel comfortable with how you
're eating you can start considering structured
cheat meals.
