The first thing you learn is to
check limiting cases when a
prediction is
made.
I suspect that it looked OK in your view or you didn't
check; «the paper i cited talks of the hiatus in global temperatures for the past 20 years or so, that the Little Ice Age was global in extent, and that climate models can not account for the observations we already have let alone
make adequate
predictions about what will happen in the future.
To
make this into a
prediction (as is suggested by the rather alarmistic title of this paper) the study is not at all complete yet:
checking the results with other models, detailed analysis of the cyclogenesis etc still need to be carried out.
Because the alleged IPCC «consensus» is so widely trusted, many climate scientists who haven't studied man -
made global warming theory or the
predictions of the computer models assume that they must be reliable merely «because the IPCC says so», rather than
checking for themselves.
So the practical use of models is for models to
make short term
predictions which can within a reasonable period of time, be
checked against reality.
Now,
making predictions that can be measured... that's evidence worth writing a
check for.
As with everything in science, you have a theory / model from which you
make predictions, then
check it against observations.
