I noticed that you put the cheese above the topping — I recently noticed that
cheese under toppings is a great improvement.

under dozens of different brand names around the globe.
Take a slice of rustic bread (mine is a dark rye cobb with walnuts and sour cherries)
top with in - season produce, spread with good quality
cheese and placed
under the grill until golden and nearly melting.
If needed warm up the sauce, then pour it into heatproof dish,
top with grated
cheese, and place
under a broiler until
cheese melts.
Then when that's done, you layer it inside of the squash along with the artichoke hearts,
top it with a little
cheese, place it
under the broiler for a few minutes until it's nice and golden, and it's ready to eat!
Place
under the broiler until the
cheese is melted and the
tops are toasted.
One of my favorite sweet treats that my mama use to make, and one I still love today is taking a piece of apple pie,

cheese is melted and bubbly (alternatively, you could stick it
under the broiler for a minute or two).
I put the
toppings under the
cheese for this one so that the
cheese could get nice and browned.
Add mozzarella
cheese and tomatoes on
top and cook pan
under broiler 2 minutes, until the eggs are slightly browned.
Then they get
topped with Monterey Jack
cheese and it's melted
under the broiler for bean dip.
TOP the cooked burger patty with 1 slice of
cheese and place
under a medium grill or broiler for 2 - 3 minutes, or until the
cheese has melted.
Place
under broiler for 1 - 2 minutes - just long enough to melt the
cheese on
top.
Place the
cheese on
top of the egg and place the sandwich
under the broiler just until the
cheese begins to melt.
People just seem to go crazy for the crisp, browned, toasted
top layer of cheddar
cheese under which is a soft gooey cheesy layer full of garlicky ham and onions.
Set crust with
toppings under the broiler on high for a minute or two until
cheese is melted and bubbly.
If you decide to do what I did, you can simply
top with
cheese and place
under the broiler or microwave before serving.
I
topped it off with some sliced avocado, melted some shredded cheddar and jack
cheese under the broiler and I was in business.

I came up with this hybrid between a Quiche Lorraine (the Swiss
cheese / bacon thing), a frittata (the cooked in the skillet on the stove
top, then
under the broiler thing) and a souffle (the beat it till a bunch of air gets incorporated, so it puffs thing).
I even split one of the finished loaves in half,
topped it with tomato sauce & mozzarella
cheese and put it
under the broiler for a few minutes.
1/2 cup
Cheese - Daiya Mozeralla plus a little more for the
top gluten free bread crumbs - I used Southern Homestyle Corn Flake Crumbs (look
under Food Favorites)
On
top of this I added some grated
cheese and put the stuffed peppers
under the broiler to melt the
cheese.
Look
under the crispy
cheese topping and you'll find tender orzo in this stuffed peppers vegetarian recipe from the blog Handle the Heat.
Top it with tortilla chips, avocado and
cheese for the perfect bowl of soup — all
under 30 minutes!
If the
cheese on
top isn't fully melted, set the dish
under the broiler for a minute or two to melt; this isn't necessary but looks nice.
To make enchiladas, add about a tablespoon of spinach to center of 1 tortilla,
Top with a tablespoon of
cheese and just
under 1/4 cup squash mixture.
Again, since I eat AiP I do not use tomato sauce or
cheese, so I'm not sure how well the breads hold up
under wet
toppings, but baking until it's crsipy should help.
If you like,
top the assembled Reubens with slices of soy
cheese, then run the sandwiches
under the broiler just until the
cheese melts.
The truly spectacular thing about this bread is that
under the crisp, browned, toasted
top layer of cheddar
cheese is a soft gooey cheesy layer full of garlicky ham and onions.
I didn't even grill the bread, just loaded up a slice of toasted bread with the meat and
cheese and threw it
under the broiler for a few minutes, then
topped with the onions and the arugula and another toasted piece of bread.
Top with a slice of provolone
cheese, and pop
under the broiler for another 1 - 2 minutes until
cheese is melted.
Scatter mozzarella
cheese over
top of the chicken and place
under the broiler until the
cheese is melted and bubbly.
Melting
cheese on
top in the oven is an option, but be careful you don't make your pork rinds soggy
under a mountain of
cheese.
Note: Corned beef can be substituted with
cheese (a good strong Cheddar) to produce «Cheesy - mash» — but sprinkle some more grated
cheese and sliced tomato on
top before placing
under the grille.
The crust is thick yet airy, and
toppings are often tucked
under the
cheese.
I usually had one of each, the
cheese toast was a slice of white bread with a square of American
cheese toasted
under the broiler until it was bubbly and crispy on
top... the cinnamon - sugar was the same white bread buttered and sprinkled with a mixture of cinnamon and white sugar also broiled until toasty.
Divided the scrambled eggs between the two and then
topped with 1/2 an ounce of cheddar
cheese and put it
under the broiler until the
cheese was nice and melty.
Scatter the remaining
cheese on
top and place
under a hot grill for 3 - 4 mins until golden brown.
When the egg looks like it is about half set up, turn off the heat, sprinkle the
cheese over the
top, and put the skillet in the oven
under the broiler.
Distribute 1/4 cup (2 ounces) goat
cheese over the
top of the frittata, then place the skillet
under the broiler for 2 minutes, until the frittata rises slightly and becomes light and settled.
finally, why not add some grated
cheese to the
top, and heat
under the grill until bubbling.
