Minister for Education and Training Simon Birmingham said the ELLA program's popularity kept growing, with an extra 20,000
children around the country set to participate in the program in 2018.
The aim of this program is to instill the values of courage, integrity and life of purpose at the earliest age possible and to nurture these attributes to adulthood through having conversations
with children around the country and showcasing role model stories that they can relate to.
Accountability systems have worked well with other reforms — such as effective choice policies, the expansion of early - childhood - education and other school - readiness programs, and efforts to improve the teaching force through evaluation and tenure reform — to improve education
for children around the country.
Although not allowed in the majority of states, it is reported that over 200,000
children around the country are victims of corporal punishment each year.
Jacqueline Green, Head of Learning and Participation at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust says, «We can't wait to see how over 1 million
children around the country will be getting to know Shakespeare, his characters and his stories.
