When supported, a sitting
child will follow you with his or her eyes, reach and
grasp for objects, drop objects, hold
onto small objects, bring hands to mouth, and place both hands on a bottle when being bottle fed.
To best observe this reflex, on a bed where the
child could safely fall
onto a pillow, offer the infant two opposing little fingers (as index fingers are typically too large for the infant to
grasp), and gradually lift.
