It's not perfect, but since you can buy ground almonds here, I just
chopped the dates into little pieces and made a dough from everything with my hands.

Dates can be a little vexing to
chop into pieces (and I don't like those «
date pieces» they sell, because they are mixed with flour and are kinda dry) so I use scissors to carefully snip them.
