We are trying to get more vegetables and whole foods in our diet and less
meat, so I
chopped up an onion, garlic, and mushrooms and worked that in with the
turkey.

turkey, bison, beef) with the right seasoning (we cheat and use a packet but I've been meaning to mix some up to keep on hand) and a choose - your - own toppings salad with the best greens I can find;
chopped sweet pepper, onion, tomato, and avocado; my husband's favorite salsa; and optional shredded cheese or sour cream.

If you want to make this recipe without the
turkey, I recommend subbing in lentils and
chopped walnuts for the
turkey as a
meat alternative.
The ricotta gets smothered across a store - bought pizza crust (You have to have a break somewhere), is dotted with the red - wine cherries, and is covered in shredded mozzarella,
chopped pistachios for crunch, and
turkey Italian sausage because Kevin can't eat pizza without
meat (or so he says).
I made this with the ground
turkey chopped meat and liked it just as much as the shredded pork tenderloin.
Even meatballs can be made over with a mixture of
chopped veggies,
turkey meat (use a blend of
turkey and beef to help transition really picky eaters), and a healthy tomato sauce on top; look for brands like Amy's Kitchen, which don't list sugar at the beginning of the ingredient list.
