oats recipe from Healthy Aperture is ideal
for breakfast, but feels hearty enough to have to lunch, too.
If you don't have time to sit down
for breakfast, throw the ingredients you'd usually serve in a bowl in the blender — think raw
oats (carbs), milk (calcium and protein), berries (antioxidants) and
cinnamon.
For breakfast, I cook steel - cut
oats to which I add coconut oil, maple syrup or honey, nut butter, and
cinnamon.
A great
breakfast: dump into a smallish saucepan: 1/3 cup quinoa, 1/3 cup steel cut
oats, 2 T. chia seeds, 2 T. ground flaxseeds, 1 t.
cinnamon, 1 t. ground cardamom, 1 t. ground nutmeg 1 sliced banana 1 dash salt 1 1/2 cup hot water Let it all soak
for at least 15 minutes to overnight.
