Unless things change in the future, the New Nintendo 3DS considers the c - stick the same as the circle pad pro, meaning it only works if the game supports the circle pad pro.
The control system on the 3DS works well enough as you use the circle pad to move the character around with the face buttons (X, Y, A & B) used to engage in the enemies, the environment and to jump around.
The nub works fine for those tasks, but I can't help but wish Nintendo had put a real analog stick or circle pad there to allow developers more gameplay flexibility.
