Circulation numbers may dip, and appetites may wane somewhat, but the printed newspaper will
continue to be an important part of our lives for a long time to come.
The reason for this is that 1) not every magazine audits their digital
circulation; 2) digital - only magazines do not audit their
numbers; and 3) some magazines, such as The Economist, are doing better in digital than their audit
numbers reflect (and a reason why the rules concerning digital editions will
continue to evolve).
