Modern citation metrics have been around since the 1960s, but before the advent of Internet -
based citation databases, they weren't nearly as useful as they are today.
Scopus ®, the world's largest abstract and
citation database of research information and quality Web sources, today announced the launch of two new features.
Those data came from scouring the journals of the American Physical Society as well as Web of Science,
a citation database.
For instance, there are 15 million scientific papers in
the citation database and 200 million references.
