Google Places will usually rank profiles which are not only claimed, but also verified by having the business information match up on multiple
citation source sites.
Not exact matches
The
site rarely ends up in a paper's
citations as the
source of, say, the history of the gut - brain axis or the chemical formula for polyvinyl chloride.
Tell them how nice their
site is, or is not, and suggest improvements for the to make, or that you noticed they have
citations to the relevant
sources, services, products or information, as your website has, but in other helpful ways to their audience.
I assume there will come a time when every correctly - formatted
citation in every electronic document will have a hyperlink to its
source (and maybe even a further future time when none of the links go to paywalls and secure
sites, but let's not get too crazy).
