Fuel economy's also pretty good by class standards, with the 24mpg in the city and 34mpg on the highway that the front - wheel drive versions of the Audi A6 are capable of returning being fairly competitive for a four - cylinder gasoline engine in this segment.

This powertrain does so much so well that I can't help but be disappointed by the fuel economy — we got about 20.5 mpg in mostly city driving.
