a clam shack with Bob's serving up seafood favorites fresh out of the fryer alongside Narragansett Beer's summer brews and chilled wine.

clam shack, Bob's Clam Hut, is bringing a taste of summer (yes, summer!)
Though development was temporarily halted during the Civil War (1861 - 1865), the beachfront location quickly became a popular place to escape the hot, humid city summers and boomed with hotels, saloons,
clam shacks, bathhouses, and entertainment for people of all types and ages.
Though all of
the clam shacks I visited use the same basic method, which produces a fairly similar crust — clams are dipped in an evaporated milk wash, dusted with finely ground corn flour or a mix of corn flour and wheat flour, then deepfried — each recipe has its own secret twists.
Most
clam shacks close in November and reopen in the spring.
