why would a player of
his class come to our club.
Not exact matches
Its seems
to me that both the
club and it's fans are not serious.Anytime Arsenal sign a youngster from another team who is dubbed the next whatever people
come out and say Arsenal have just signed a youngster who may or may not make it and that Arsene should sign ready made. They say it
to seem as if it's a bad thing. Now that Chris Willock is leaving I'm anticipating that a lot of people are soon going
to be blaming the same Wenger who actually likes bringing in youngsters.Anyway you have
to look at the reasons he lfet. It's for game time and
to him he thinks its a good choice. The bright side is that he's not Arsenal's most talented player. The likes of Donyell Malen, Yassin Fortune, Reiss Nelson in my eyes have more potential as wingers.I also think Arsenal should be very excited about Eddie Nketiah and Stephy Mavididi. They can be world
class strikers in the future particularly Eddie.
Fair enough we will not win trophy's this year but world
class players are
coming to our
club again ozil, Sanchez, and there will be one more this summer hopefully a defencive player and one more next year.
who would of guest City would make an offer of 60 million in the summer for Sanchez with only a year left on his contract, i'm guessing we could get an offer of around 30 million from City in January so he wont be persuaded by the likes of PSG with a signing on fee in the summer, but who knows what goes in the mind of Alexis or what kind of injuries some big
clubs could have from now until January for them
to make ridiculous offers
to a world
class player with no CL conflict of interest, lets say Real Madrid loses Ronaldo, Bale, Karim
to long term injury you bet they will
come ceiling with baring gifts for Sanchez's services or even Barca with Messi or Suarez
The bunch running d affairs of d
club especially d senile coach does not not have what it takes
to win so Co-fans do not expect a world
class players that as a winning mentality
to come into a suck boat.
What are 60m when you can secure a word
class player for many years
to come, knowing that there are so many Fake
clubs with lots of money, spending heavy for the sake of the future is nothing.
Remember if you aren't at the head of the
class when it
comes to the development of young talent, which means eyes on the ground everywhere, a vast array of connections with soccer associations throughout Europe and beyond and a manager willing
to properly train and play said blue chippers, (like the 90s Arsenal or
clubs like the modern day Monaco and Dortmund) you need
to spend
to win... anything in between is highly problematic... failure
to make the necessary changes leaves you in the proverbial «no man's land» and that is currently where we reside... it's difficult
to get out of this rut... just ask either of the Milan teams... next step after that is being known as a «seller», which could be us already if and when Sanchez leaves... there are only two teams that have worn this moniker in recent times and had some decent success and that is Athletico Madrid and Dortmond, which only occurred when they both brought in new, charismatic leaders in Simmone & Klopp... the odds that Wenger could conjure up the magic
to repeat the performances of a bygone era are incredibly low, so why prolong the agony... he's not willing
to create the hierarchy necessary
to go the youth route and he's unwilling
to put his team's potential success ahead of his job security by laying it on the line with Moustache, so it's time
to place all your chips in the middle or go gently into that good night
nice
to see you crawl out of your hole just in time
to offer your 2 cents worth once again... unlike yourself I started following this team long before Wenger arrived on the scene and will continue
to do so long after he's gone... in his earlier years I admired the cerebral elements he brought
to the EPL, which at that point was more brutish than beautiful, and I respected the seemingly tireless efforts of Arsene, Dein & staff
to uncover and develop talent without sacrificing the product on the field... likewise I appreciated that such a youthful manager wasn't afraid
to bring strong personalities and / or world -
class players into the fold without being fearful of how said players would potentially undermine and / or dilute his authority... unfortunately this all changed about 10 years ago and culminated in the removal of all our greatest players, both young and old, without any real replacements
coming in... from Henry
to RVP
to Fabergas and Nasri, it was easy
to see that this
club was no longer interested in competing at the highest levels... instead of being honest, minus the ridiculous claims regarding the new stadium, Wenger chose
to side with management and in doing so became the «front man» for this corporation pretending
to be a world -
class soccer
club... without the «front man» this organization would have been exposed numerous years earlier, so his presence was imperative if the facade was
to continue... it's for this reason and more that I despise what this once great man and Kroenke has done
to my beloved
club... the gutless, shameful and manipulative way they have treated the fans, like myself, is largely indefensible and this is why I felt it necessary
to start offering my opinion in a public format... trust me, I resisted the temptation for many years but as long as the same shit continues
to exist I will voice my opinions and if you don't like it maybe you should look for a different team
to pretend
to follow
there is only one thing that worries me is the lack of top
class potential managers
coming through
to replace wenger in a few years, pep might be ok (but he does cause upset at most of the
clubs he manages) klopp on the other hand is too soon
to take over would work but wenger wont go as he is just on the up again.
What an article, why would any world
class player in his right mind wouldn't consider
coming to Arsenal especially when you are guaranteed (a) not
to win any top tier trophies (b)
to be paid less than at a
club where you would win top tier trophies (c) your career would be at the mercy of the tactical ineptitude of Arsene the dope.
«I would like
to see a world
class centre forward
coming into the
club,» said Keown, «Someone that really puts the fear of God into the opposing defenders.
Up front we have a few world -
class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the
club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world -
class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due
to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough
to overcome such difficulties: not
to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player
coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this
club's failure
to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled
to take their sideways soccer
to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
THEN the players
come, because every manager on world
class level (aka where a
club with the size of Arsenal should pick from) knows how
to deal with players.
Now we have better quality players at the
club as well and with more money flowing, more world
class players
to come.
Apart of Ozil and Sanchez, one could say Arsenal are still gribpling with the terms of
to regularly be buying top
class players as they have not been able
to match or undo their 3 main title rivals of the 2 Manchester
clubs and Chelsea when it
comes to be buying world
class players regularly in the transfer market
to overhaul their teams which have seen Arsenal failed
to win the PL and Ucl titles for more ten years or so even after they've repaid
to a large extend the loans they took
to build the Ems Stadium.
The reason other
clubs are wiping Arsenal's eye when it
comes to signing Top
class Players is Mr Wengers unwillingness
to Part with MONEY and the Boards for standing back and letting him have his way.
Jonm; As a major share Holder no one can throw them out, but with no profit, from ECL TV revenue, less TV revenue from EPL, and
class come player willing
to come to Arsenal like last year Aubumeyang refused and Vardy snubbed, 2 years ago Suarez refused
to come, pretty soon they are forced
to sell and get out or buy and compete with big
clubs like MU, MC, CHELSEA LIVERPOOL SPURS and even LEICESTER.
Should this even be a topic?Giroud is a player of average quality always surrounded by good players.I just don't get. It's as if only Arsenal fans rate him. This was a player who was bought
to be the leading striker at Arsenal and after his years of failure which many deny he's now become a super sub?How laughable is that. From failure
to super sub.If the so called world
class striker we're signing goes out with an injury for about five months who
comes in then.It seems
to me people lack vision. Why is it always Giroud Giroud Giroud? After so many seasons people are still debating what souldn't even be debatable.I've lost count of the number of times he's been talked about here. This is the problem with our
club. It's just not ruthless. This is a player who should have been gone long ago but due
to him being French he still gets the chances. We won't miss him when he goes and I'd like
to see if he'd stand out in a smaller
club.
He's
come a long way at the
club, proving
to be a well experienced and world
class centre back for
club and country.
Unlike many I'm not scared at all if he leaves. You know why?Because I've seen better players leave the
club and seen where we ended up.He's very good and world
class but not as good as many think.Forget stats for a moment and look at his quality.I also hope the mistake of keeping Mr. Hold up at the
club would not be made. Here at Arsenal we compromise a lot and we always ignore the cracks until it's too late.Wait till Lacazette goes for a three or four month injury. Then we'll know we never learn.I hope Bellerin doesn't make this mistake of leaving Arsenal. He has so so much
to learn. His game still lacks that something. He needs
to know how
to maximise his potentials and be consistent. That will only
come with more playing time and patience.Arsene should not even think of letting him go as we will have
to spend money on a RB and besides we need him.
Aguero would never
come to arsenal even if city agreed what world
class player would ever even consider
coming to club that is in crisis from top
to bottom we will only be able
to sign average players hence John evans interest that's about as good as it's going
to get be prepared for many years of doom and gloom!!
Yeah that left a rather sour taste in my mouth too, but the reality of the situation was that most of the players who left the
club in the past did so because the constant failure
to obtain any sort of silverware... As I have said many times before and will say again, Wenger is the «root of all of Arsenals problems»... yes silent Stan and the board are also contributory... but the fact that they have allowed him in excess of 16 million
to spend on teenage boys debunks any myth that suggest his hands are tied... You give me 16 million and I'll bring back a world
class player and
come back with change.
come on... this is the dead cat tactic... we should be talking about why there is no serious move for two world
class strikers without which we will have another failed season and why players like the whippet, ox mert and campbell have not been told they are surplus
to requirements in a
club with ambition
to win top trophies... oh hang on maybe wenger is the man for the england job!!!!!
we are no longer a world
class club, we are joking matters for players like neuer who calls a match against us an holiday... jheez... so playing arsenal is like a holiday trip... I wudnt gve up but wud jst watch on and c what is gonna happen until a brave someone wud kill that sadistic man in his bed... its no more
come on you gonners COYG.....
Honestly, I prefer
to see my beloved
club waiting for the RIGHT opportunity
to come and buy a world
class player rather than getting quickly Ings or milner lol.
His strike rate is another reason for fans
to be sceptical, as they were hoping for a world
class forward with a fantastic scoring record
to come into the
club during the transfer window.
In turn, after recently being suspended by the Bundesliga outfit and handed a # 54m price - tag with a view of an exit, as per The Sun, it would
come as no surprise
to see
clubs from around Europe queueing up
to land his signature and sign a world -
class player who can add a prolific edge up front if he is indeed available.
even when he suffered a serious knee injury, instead of accepting the fact that he would never stick his legs into the spaces that were crucial for someone with straight ahead speed
to succeed, the
club actually contemplated giving him a chance
to play up top where his lack of physicality, size and holding up play talents would been on display for all
to see... these are not the actions of a
club that really cares about winning at the highest levels, but they are the actions of a
club that wasn't interested in spending the necessary resources
to purchases a world -
class striker, which is usually the most expensive position on the pitch... instead we adopted the horrible phrase «like a new signing» and proceeded
to allow this ridiculous experiment
to carry on, which ultimately caused some discomfort on the training pitch and inside the locker room as players battled for a position that shouldn't have been theirs for the taking in the first place... don't get me wrong, I believe that Walcott is a talented player, who can help a team reach their goals, if their goals are relatively modest... just look at the teams who supposedly expressed interest in his services and they weren't the kind of
clubs who aspire
to win at the highest levels... as for the reasons why he hasn't been bitching and moaning about moving on just look at the wage benefits he receives from our
club and his obvious desire
to enjoy the societal advantages that
come with playing in North London for a
club with worldwide appeal... so instead of continuing
to try
to fix a coat with a broken zipper simply move on and buy a new and better coat
Chelsea need
to add homegrown talent
to their squad as soon as possible and it won't
come cheap: not only will they be playing the «English players premium», but the limited number of top
class homegrown players available and Chelsea's desperation means that they can be held
to ransom by
clubs.
Hey SoOpa AeoN you got a cool but yoy don't talk cool at all along with rkw.I didn't like the way Chicarito's name was rubbed in the mad and what pains me is that you all think Giroud is better. The fact that you are a team reject does not mean you aren't good enough or can't be world
class.Do you want me
to name a few rejects who have become world
class or have
come back
to haunt their teams. If I was
to choose between sticking with Giroud or Chicarito for thousand years we all know who people would go for.The over hyped average players in our
club is unbelievable and it's just sad.The
club is also over hyped at times and we feel like we are so so big. It's a shame. The mentality of this
club is so so bad and trust me with this characters success will be far away for centuries
to come.
Obviously I want
to see more world
class players at the
club and I see approximately 10 players in our 27 man over 21 squad, whose
coming season will be a bit part season if everyone is fit.
There's a long way
to go for Alli yet
to prove he is top
class, as ultimately that will
come with his ability
to consistently deliver and take the
club forward in their bid
to win trophies.
Nothing like one underachiever blowing smoke up the ass of another... we know that Ozil has some incredible technical gifts, but
to be considered the best you have
to bring more than just assists
to the table... for me, a top player has
to possess a more well - rounded game, which doesn't mean they need
to be a beast on both ends of the pitch, but they must have the ability
to take their game
to another level when it matters most... although he amassed some record - like stats early on, it set the bar too high, so when people expected him
to duplicate those numbers each year the pressure seemed
to get the best of our soft - spoken star... obviously that's not an excuse for what has happened in the meantime, but it's important
to make note of a few things: (1) his best year was a transition year for many of the traditionally dominant teams in the EPL, so that clearly made the numbers appear better than they actually were and (2) Wenger's system, or lack thereof, didn't do him any favours; by playing him out of position and by not acquiring world -
class striker and / or right - side forward that would best fit an Ozil - centered offensive scheme certainly hurt his chances
to repeat his earlier peformances, (3) the loss of Cazorla, who took a lot of pressure off Ozil in the midfield and was highly efficient when it
came to getting him the ball in space, negatively impacted his effectiveness and (4) he likewise missed a good chunk of games and frankly never looked himself when he eventually returned
to the field... overall the Ozil experiment has had mixed reviews and rightfully so, but I do have some empathy for the man because he has always carried himself the same way, whether for Real or the German National team, yet he has only suffered any lengthy down periods with Arsenal...
to me that goes directly
to this
club's inability
to surround him with the necessary players
to succeed, especially for someone who is a pass first type of player; as such, this simply highlights our
club's ineffective and antiquated transfer policies... frankly I'm disappointed in both Ozil and our management team for not stepping up when it counted because they had a chance
to do something special, but they didn't have it in them... there is no one that better exemplifies our recent history than Ozil, brief moments of greatness undercut by long periods of disappointing play, only made worse by his mopey posturing like a younger slightly less awkward Wenger... what a terribly waste
United have a proud tradition of bringing through homegrown talent, with their «
Class of 92» the most notable recent example of a generation of youngsters who went on
to star for their
club for years
to come.
I too also know that we look weak at the back but i also believe they have learnt from there mistakes last season and have a stronger unity this season going into the 3rd season with the team wenger has put together without losing key players and adding real Quality and world
class that i havent seen before because none of our history says we bought our trophies we won them with all the unexpected beliefs and never bought into the society and modern game we seen before us not one of our legends were already labelled for they are today before they
came to us The made a name for themselfs in our Jersey and build a foundation of what we represent today Before Arsene Wenger and with him We are a
club that overachieve and under promise Everything we've done has be our very own unique way of doing it not the way other
clubs are ahiceving i for one will not Follow the Man City's ambitions Chelseas Manchester united or anyone elses
Who has man u played before they suddenly become world beaters?the only strong test man u has this season was against real Madrid and they lost, every player in arsenal is rubbish buh every rubbish in another
club is world
Class, u guys r saying all maner of rubbish against ozil now, forcing him out of our
club, even when dude has not said anything, tomorrow u guys will still
come here and be blaming Wenger for selling
to a direct rival, hope u guys won't cry murder if ozil should go
to man u?
Yes i totally agree with Ramsey we're now started
to see some positive players players that have an ambition
to bring back our invisible Gunners out of darkness we tired of being laughing @ from other football
club fans around the world we tired of being aiming higher and end up be
to button of our rivals Afc is a very outstanding world
class fc for God sake we have all the potential
to take our
club to the highest level so
come on Wenger let's do it also glad
to see the way Wenger treated Morenho on Sunday & I'll love
to see Wenger do the same every time they meet in public place until Morenho realize his arrogant behavior towards Wenger.
The very fact that we are all devided means that AW has
to go for the better of the
club, But it should be done with honer grace and
class after all he has served us well for most of his time in charge, he is still tring his best but unfortunately football has moved on from his ways, so guys
come on we are not going
to throw him out like his some kind of criminal or traitor, we are the Arsenal not spuds or Chelsky.
players like Ozil always present the fans with a bit of a conundrum, especially when times are tough... if you look around the sporting world every once in awhile there emerges a player with incredible skill, like Ozil, Matt Sundin or even Jay Cutler, who have a different way about themselves... their movement seemed almost too lackadaisical, so much so that it seemed
to suggest indifference or even disinterest on the part of the player... their posture always appears somewhat mopey and they generally have an unflattering «sour puss» expression on their face... for some their above average skills are enough
to keep them squarely in the mix, as their respective teams try desperately
to find a way
to get the best out of them visa vie player acquisitions or the reworking of tactics... when things go according
to planned the fans usually find a way
to accept their unique disposition, whereas when things go awry they become easy targets for fans and pundits alike... in the case of Ozil and Sundin, their successes on the international stage and / or with their former teams led many
to conclude that if we surrounded such talented individuals with players that have those skills that would most likely bring the best of these players success would surely follow... unfortunately both the Maple Leafs and our
club chose
to adopt half - measures, as each were being run by corporations who valued profitability over providing the best possible product on the field... for them, they cared more about shirt sales and season tickets than doing whatever was necessary... this isn't, by any stretch, an attempt
to absolve Ozil of any responsibility for his failures on the pitch... there is no doubt oftentimes his efforts were underwhelming,
to say the least, but this
club has been inept when it
comes to providing this prolific passer with the kind of players necessary for him
to flourish... with our poor man's version of Benzema up front, the headless chickens in Walcott, the younger Ox and Welbeck occupying wide positions far too often and the fact that Carzola, who provided Ozil with great service and more freedom
to roam, was never truly replaced, the only real skilled outlet on the pitch was Sanchez... remember
to be considered a world -
class set - up man goals need
to be scored and for much of his time here he has been surrounded by some incredibly inept finishers... in the end, I'm not sure how long he will be in North London, recent sentiments and his present contract situation seem
to suggest that he will depart at season's end, but how tragic would it be if once again we didn't put our best foot forward and failed
to make those moves that could have brought championship football back
to our once beloved
club... so when you think about this uniquely skilled player don't be so quick
to shift all the blame on his shoulders because he will not be the first or the last highly skilled player
to find disappointment at the Emirates if we don't rid the
club of those individuals that are truly
to blame for our current woes
And just quietly... Cech is now the third genuinely world -
class player who has
come to the
club citing Wenger's ambition as a major contributing factor
to their decision
to join.
The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper experienced a rocky start
to his Manchester United career, losing his place
to backup keeper Anders Lindergaard multiple times during his two year spell at the
club, but he appears
to be
coming of age, and maturing into a truly world
class keeper.
On the one hand, we'd lose a world
class player who has the potential
to make a difference
to our
club during the up and
coming season.
Ultimately I think wenger needs
to move on, most likely this summer but if klopp is available
come janurary you have
to make that business move as a
Club to buy the best successor available instead of being stuck with someone when wenger contract expires and all other
class managers are signed.
Lemar is
class act but do nt expect it arsenal is a
club buys one exceptional talent each year and lose two this year they have already got two saad and laca its just rumour created
to show fans how hard they r working in the window lemar is better than other lads in monaco he is going no where this year he will get monaco full price of the money if he
comes in arsenal they will be champions of champion only one condition when Sanchez leaves he will be in otherwise no
world
class players do nt become available, if u want some one u go
to club and make them offer, unsettle the players.
club wont
come out n say oh we are gona make our best players available for sale.every one knows that, but u thick akbs will make excuse for thats buffon.
A player with his
class always need
to come off a season with glory / glories, his decision, if ithe article is true is a painful one and he will be missed but the
club stands.
But now
comes the crunch time, once we've secured their services for multiple seasons, had them produce at the highest level on the pitch, won the hearts of our entire fanbase and performed at a world -
class level both for us and internationally... What are we going
to be willing
to do
to keep them at the
club??
I personally think that the
club still has little chance of retaining our 2 world
class players despite the rumours but it will obviously
come at a cost and be difficult: 1 - Pay them more than anybody else but, and unfortunately they will probably have
to insert some type of release clause for next summer if the right
club and offer arrives
to let them go in case of an ultimate painful underachieving season.
Although it will be incredibly difficult
to ever match his contributions on the pitch, it's vitally important for a former
club legend, like Henry,
to publicly address his concerns regarding the direction of this
club... regardless of those who still feel that Henry has some sort of agenda due
to the backlash he received following earlier comments he made on air regarding Arsenal, he has an intimate understanding of the game, he knows the fans are being hosed and he feels some sense of obligation, both professionally and personally,
to tell it like he sees it... much like I've continually expressed over the last couple months, this team isn't evolving under this current ownership / management team... instead we are currently experiencing a «stagnant» phase in our
club's storied history... a fact that can't be hidden by simply changing the formation or bringing in one or two individuals... this team needs fundamental change in the way it conducts business both on and off the pitch or it will continue
to slowly devolve into a second tier
club... regardless of the euphoria surrounding our escape act on Friday evening, as it stands, this
club is more likely
to be fighting for a Europa League spot for the foreseeable future than a top 4 finish... we can't hope for the failures of others
to secure our place in the top 4, we need
to be the manufacturers of our own success by doing whatever is necessary
to evolve as an organization... if Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke can't take the necessary steps following the debacle they manufactured last season, their removal is imperative for our future success... unfortunately, I strongly believe that either they don't know how
to proceed in the present economic climate or they are unwilling
to do whatever it takes
to turn this ship around... just look at the current state of our squad, none of our world
class players are under contract beyond this season, we have a ridiculous wage bill considering the results, we can't sell our deadwood because we've mismanaged our personnel decisions and contractual obligations, we haven't properly cultivated our younger talent and we might have become one of the worst
clubs ever when it
comes to way we handle our transfer business, which under Dein was one of our greatest assets... it's time
to get things right!!!
We are happy
to play for 4th place.evn this year we won't win the league, we can't compete with man city or Chelsea with danny or snogo up front.i mean
come on
club like arsenal should have world
class striker not some reject s from other team but no u morrons weneger licker do nt care cos u only care more abouts weneger not the
club.look how meny excuse u morrons already making for ur lord weneger.
