What a failire he's become. He was bought as the man supposed to lead the line and send us to glory and now he becomes a so called super sub.I don't get it.France's leading striker is a super sub at Arsenal.Since he came here he's part of the reason why we've not been able to win the league. He's also part of the reason why Wenger remains hesitant in signing a world class striker since for some reason he still believes in him. He's really affected Arsenal a lot which I don't kbow if many have realized. At times playing with him is like playing with no striker at all. This inconsistencies won't help us at all going forward We have absolutely zero quality in striking department.
He inherited a fantastic side at Barcelona, he had Messi at his disposal (who will probably go down as the greatest player ever, and guarantee's you a goal a game), Pep also had a lot of other world class players that were so in tune which each others game, he had lots of money to spend, and Real and Barcelona were miles ahead of any else in the Spanish league in terms of quality players and finances.
Big in your list I can agree that all these players would improve us, but let's look at our CB At the moment Kos, top player but is struggling with a inj which may or may not heal, at the moment he isn't match fit so not up to his own high standard, so needs help or a defender of his quality so he can go and recover properly So then we have Mert, too slow and no longer good enough, I'm not sure if he's even good enough for 3 rd choice CB, too slow, poor on the air for his size and not brave enough, he's lasted this long due to Kos he needs a Top class CB just to allow him to play against average teams Ok now Reid not top class we can all agree so we couldn't really play him with MERT as he isn't Kos quality so can't cover merits deficiencys He could be ok with Kos but Kos is struggling So is Reid what we need???? And finally Wenger if he has all 3 fit will still play Kos / Mert first choice Oh and God forbid we play MERT / Reid against the top teams like Chels / city / utd / Southampton Chuckle chuckle

If we Really want to Challenge for EPL this season then we should we ruthless with signing quality players, there are alot we can still convince to come even without Champions League, For the 1st time i will see Wenger and Arsenal trying to spend over the odds, like # 100 millon for a top Player, Even if we can't get him which my instinct tells me we won't then we should be aggressive with others and be fast Here are the followings that would make us challenge for EPL next Season 1) A World Class Striker, Realistic: AUBAMEYANG.
Should this even be a topic?Giroud is a player of average quality always surrounded by good players.I just don't get. It's as if only Arsenal fans rate him. This was a player who was bought to be the leading striker at Arsenal and after his years of failure which many deny he's now become a super sub?How laughable is that. From failure to super sub.If the so called world class striker we're signing goes out with an injury for about five months who comes in then.It seems to me people lack vision. Why is it always Giroud Giroud Giroud? After so many seasons people are still debating what souldn't even be debatable.I've lost count of the number of times he's been talked about here. This is the problem with our club. It's just not ruthless. This is a player who should have been gone long ago but due to him being French he still gets the chances. We won't miss him when he goes and I'd like to see if he'd stand out in a smaller club.
It's obvious for me that arsenal need 4 players to become a world class team like bayern and real madrid i couldn't dare mention barcelona because they have unbelievable front three and they maybe the best attack in history of football we are lacking quality in the ST as well as the RW of course giroud and campvell are very good players but in my opinion they are less in quality than the rest of the team so we need to improve the quality in these positins About the DM it's a number issue and i think the position is covered with flamini doing good job and elneny coming which can be deployed there About the fourth signing we need is a center back I don't think i saw till now enough minutes for gabriel to tell if he can make the position his own or not But what makes me doubt him that wenger didn't choose him till now over per which means he is not miles ahead of him so i think we need a new better CB This team can go and fight for every thing even the champions leafue....
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
total failure... Can you believe Wenger spent 32 millions on 2 average players (Chambers and Welbeck) and is penny pinching when is sbout real class players? What is in his mind?Pay a fortune in salary for mediocre players live Walcott, Ramsey and Wilshere and have hesitations about increasing Sanchez wages... keeping on books failures like Sanogo... The truth is - I say it for years and years - until the «British core» disapears, we are not going to be succesful. The low quality of British players is dragging the team back.Last time Arsenal was a powerhouse NONE of the first 11 was British.Wanna see how the British quality looks like in a football team - look no further than national sides of England, Scotland, N Ireland, Wales, even Ireland (not British but same style)- all mediocre teams «able» to be defeated by any team coming to mind. And you are asking about Chambers? He is in the same mold like Wilshere,Walcott,Ox,Ramsey,Gibs,Jenkinson - mediocre overpriced and overpaid players. The world is full with hungry, ambitious and skilled players living in poverty and dreaming of moving to the top at any cost or sacrifice (did you see the poor house - if you can call that house, looking more like an old tent - in which Alexis Sanchez grew up?Or Suarez?)
Bendtner or Chamakh would still have been considered average even if they scored 25goals because they had average talent. For all the potential Bendtner had he never maximised it so as long asit wasn't developed he's still average.I mean it's possoble for an average player to score 25 goals when given the chances and possible for a world class striker to score less than that.Quality is a talent which may be linked to stats but does not necessarily show on stats.Take Ox for example, if you looked at his stats you might think he's average but he's not.Look at Lukaku, he's scored many goals for Everton yetmany people here think he's not gpod enough for Arsenal because they look at the quality and talent andnot just the goals.
In the envisaged revamping of the Arsenal first team squad during the in - coming summer transfer window for next season's campaign during which at least 2 world class players are expected to be signed by Arsenal in addition to keeping Ozil and Sanchez, and some underperforming Gunners for 3 consecutive seasons allowed to leave on the expiration of their contract deals this season or be sold if their deals are still active to recoup some funds used in signing the 2 world class players in addition to the signing of 3 other top quality new players making them 5 in numbers of: a LB, a DM, an AMD, a versatile world class Winger & a world class Striker whom Arsenal should sign during the summer imho.
«we need two world class players in every position» thats the quote from Usmanov which i really agree with him same thing spanish big two has been doing for a long run and thats why European Championship has been changing hands because of quality they have in their squad same thing can not be said when you come to Arsenal approach we are way below in England i can Man city doing same thing pep brought with him

Çoquelin has been great for the team, he has shown great defensive midfield qualities but it does not stop there is movement with the ball has been pure class which keeps the team ticking.
whatever you think of ramsey... and in my books he is a decent b2b but certainly not top class... he is not going to control the area between edge of box and centre line which is what all great DMs do... nor has coquelin proved that to me... he is a guttusso type player and has improved massively in that role... not convinced it is what will take us to challenging for titles however which is why a cavalho type DM is a needed addition especially as arteta and flamini are obviously not up to the task... but have always said that wengers job is to get best out of ozil santi and wilshere who are the real creative world class strengths of this squad... they need protection behind them and options in front... at moment the real worry is that wenger will continue to use mertesakher at CB and fail to bring in quality striker... so the song remains the same... without quality DM and attacking option we will be trying to retain 3rd place and reach qf of cl
Sure the wages were important but he could have got that elsewhere.I believe he genuinely wanted to stay which means he is assured we will forward as a club.Ozil is absolute Quality and we will get more out of him now the contract is agreed and we continue to sign genuine class players for the yeam
A 4 -3-3 system is favoured by Barca, Real Madrid and Man City and Bayern, the top four teams in Europe. It suits the attacking philosophy of Arsene Wenger which is to his credit.Unfortunately we do not have the top quality defenders these teams have nor a dominant DM.Nevertheless it is the best system for our current team which is top heavy in attacking midfielders hence the need to play Ozil and Mik in wide positions. In my opinion the most balanced central midfield would consist of Elneny, Ramsay and Wilshere.Elneny was first class against Watford yet was left out against an average Milan side to accommodate the ever present Xhaka who will no doubt feature against CSK.

@Taygoon, Ofcourse Denilson is gud player, and I even say he is a world class player. But his job is nt to partner with Fab, both of them shud sbstitute to each other.I am big FAB - Uluous Fan but I can tell u this: If Denilson works on his passes (Which isnt an easy task and need more smart play!!!!), I would prefer to see him on the pitch than Fab.There are some qualities (and important ones) that Denilson have but Fab does nt and vice versa. But for now I always prefer to see Fabuluous on the pitch. We could play Denilson if we play 4 -5-1 which means we have to drop RVP.But we can not drop Song and put Denilson on his Job as the main task on that position is defending not attacking. We REALLY need a strong CDM player.Lokk at all the big teams, they all hWhich isnt an easy task and need more smart play!!!!), I would prefer to see him on the pitch than Fab.There are some qualities (and important ones) that Denilson have but Fab does nt and vice versa. But for now I always prefer to see Fabuluous on the pitch. We could play Denilson if we play 4 -5-1 which means we have to drop RVP.But we can not drop Song and put Denilson on his Job as the main task on that position is defending not attacking. We REALLY need a strong CDM player.Lokk at all the big teams, they all hwhich means we have to drop RVP.But we can not drop Song and put Denilson on his Job as the main task on that position is defending not attacking. We REALLY need a strong CDM player.Lokk at all the big teams, they all have!!
