Here's my take on Walcott; the typical English hype got to him and he over estimated his own abilities in recent seasons, wanting to play as striker without first establishing himself as a world class winger forgatting that even Henry, Ronaldo and even Messi had to first prove their undoubted abilities on the wing befroe going central, Wenger let him suit himself, he hit rock bottom when he wasn't even selected for the Euros and has finally decided to dust himself up and work his way back up, why cant we see that and just give him the necessary support?

As for a striker i really like giroud and always have admired what he has done for the team so unless there is a top world class striker available i.e suarez rues (ehich is very doubtfull) iwouldn just buy for the sake of buying.

Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Chelsea's only good signing is Fabregas, Diego Costa I think is overrated and a bit hot or cold from what I've seen, Costa could quite possibly flop, in my opinion, he's not the definition of a «World Class Striker» and as for Fellipe Luis, I haven't watched enough of him to make a judgement however if we bring in one more marquee signing then I'll be convinced that we've had the best transfer window out of any other club in the Premier League.

There are some decent if not world class strikers out there but as the closing of the window approaches, it will be a lot harder to persuade any club to part with their best players.

I still think we should sign a world class striker if we can but if we don't i wont be worrying as much as other people are!

The only thing Arsene Wenger should learn from the current season is, what we have been telling him all along, that we need a world class striker to lead the team, as Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane have been instrumental in their side's push to win the league, much in the way that Diego Costa fired Chelsea to the title last season.
