Instead of moving players out of position to accommodate a new arrival how about applying some tactical nous and allowing two talented players to both play as strikers.The best teams of 1998 - 2004 had a number of different strikers playing off the genius of Dennis Bergkamp.We had pace, movement and power.Although I would not put Ozil in Bergkamps class he is talented enough to pull the strings with other playmakers such as Jack and Mikki in the side in a 442.

OT: I know Wenger said we have enough strength in front a and are short in some areas (i.e. defense) but I wouldn't rule out him signing a world - class striker.

i think we should go all out for Henrikh Mkhitaryan the guys is total quality, the PL may be faster paced but when he gets chances his quality is first class, play Sanchez as striker iwobi one side him the other and giroud as a no 2.

Wenger likes certain types of strikers and the only time i recall him getting a player who is all about finishing is Jeffers, we know how that turned out... there was Suker & Eduardo too but they had something more also a high class of finishing ability especially Suker.

Mistamonn most of the time his playing players out of position is because we don't have the necessary depth of players for each position specially on the left, the team is always out of balance he rely needs to buy W / C if not top players in key positions, last year i was commenting that we needed a striker before a class DM but i was so wrong, we first need the best DM that money can buy no mater how much then and only then we can look for another class DM and a couple of descent defenders.

Chelsea's only good signing is Fabregas, Diego Costa I think is overrated and a bit hot or cold from what I've seen, Costa could quite possibly flop, in my opinion, he's not the definition of a «World Class Striker» and as for Fellipe Luis, I haven't watched enough of him to make a judgement however if we bring in one more marquee signing then I'll be convinced that we've had the best transfer window out of any other club in the Premier League.

its a big risk... that league is so easy for strikers nowadays dat if uve got class u shld b scoring at least 40goals (no disrespect) look at Suarez in ajax, bony in vitesse, de jong, etc... not all work out... vardy is proven in EPL, has passion, fighting spirit and isn't afraid to cheat to win (yes I said it!!!)

What you said is very true.Ozil makes our strikers look half decent.In fact we expect average players to look better when they are surrounded with world class players.He's definitely not been consistent but to get the best out of him he needs players who can finish or else he's useless.It's good Wenger has brought in Lacazette who's actually the only good finisher out of our three strikers.

There is a pool of other less - obvious names out there (world - class or not) when it comes to wingers, strikers, DMs, or Goalkeepers.

I am happy to agree Costa is a better striker but I just enjoy pointing out the daftness of some of the hyperbole on here when the green - eyed ones start worshipping the opposition and eulogising «world class this and that» — and it always has to be at the expense of our own guys.

Just one out of a dozen strikers, there's plenty of strikers available that might not be world class but definitely offer something different to Giroud.
