Clicker
training is using a marker of sorts (either a word, typically «yes», or a
click with a clicker) to mark the exact moment your
dog does a desired behavior.
Therefore before you can commence
training your
dog must start associating the
clicking sound
with pleasure and, as we all know, there is nothing better than a delicious treat.

Clicker
training means using a sound (a
click) to communicate
with your
dog.
I have used a Halti on some very leash /
dog reactive strong pullers, but also
train with click and treat methods for loose leash walking.
When walking by kennels, taking a
dog out for a walk, or any time you are
training them, we
click to mark the behavior and reinforce it
with a small treat.

training dogs since 1975, I firmly believe in the use of the clicker to inform my
dogs that they have performed desired behaviors by
clicking immediately and providing them
with yummy treats.
A realistic
clicking sound will help you and your
dog with obedience
training, behavioral
training, and even tricks.

Continue as described above, slowly increasing the amount of time your
dog has to look at you before you
click and treat during each
training session until your
dog can maintain eye contact
with you for 10 seconds.

click with a flash of light, or, a «buzz» from a vibrating collar.
