A failure to appreciate the role clouds play in regulating the Earth's temperature means that a significant number of
climate change predictions underestimate the likely extent of global warming over the coming years, scientists have claimed.

For is it not true that the IPCC is comprised of a wide range of scientist and they all must agree on the content of their reports, that some of said scientists are either on the payroll of oil - dependent nations or are politically conservative, and that the IPCC
predictions have consistently
underestimated the effects of
climate change in terms of temperature rise, sea level rise, ice cap diminution, etc..?

But before the deniers crow that climatologists don't know what they're doing, note this well: The
predictions made using these models almost always seem to
underestimate the effects of
climate change.
Kevin Hamilton, who co-authored the report, warns: «If our model results prove to be representative of the real global
climate, then
climate is actually more sensitive to perturbations by greenhouse gases than current global models predict, and even the highest warming
predictions would
underestimate the real
change we could see.»
For close to 20 years, when I reacted to each new
climate change prediction by saying it was a drastic
underestimate, my sister would ask how I knew.
As someone who follows
climate change news fairly closely, something that's been simultaneously frustrating and scary is how many people seem to believe that scientists are exaggerating the effects of
climate change as a scare tactic, when in fact, if you compare their
predictions with the actual observational evidence, scientists have overwhelmingly
UNDERestimated the speed and violence of
climate impacts.
