The last major boomer - friendly reverse mortgage tweak came in 2009, when the Federal Housing Administration, or FHA, announced its HECM for Purchase Program, which enabled qualified seniors to downsize or relocate
by using a reverse mortgage to purchase their
new home, thereby saving
on closing costs.
Elgin and Naperville tied for the number of
closings on new homes in 2014 with 286, followed
by Crown Point, Ind., and St. John, Ind., which both had 216
closings, then Pingree Grove, which had 204 such
closings.
