My master bedroom has
closet doors almost identical to your original doors.

I tackled our master
closet just a few weeks ago and have
almost broken my arm patting myself on the back each time I open the
door!
We added panels of grasscloth framed with narrow molding to our flat sliding
closet doors to add texture to the separate sink area of our Masterbath that has
almost no wall surface.

closets, on
doors and on
almost every wall are a few inches of vertical space crying out for a hook for towels, purses, scarves, backpacks, hats, utensils, tools, keys, cups and much more.
Other details we had to finalize: — For the cabinet color, we elected to color - match the white to our existing moulding throughout the house (which is roughly the color of what basic white non-tinted paint looks like after aging
almost 50 years — we've repainted it all but had SW mix us something to match one of our old louver
closet doors since we like the color).
They
almost look like artwork to me instead of
closet doors.
