My son no longer has an allergic reaction... it has pointed me in other directions of
cloth reusable items to save money (cloth paper towels, wipes, toilet paper, menstrual pads) I save TONS now and I feel happy knowing its less chemicals, my baby is happy, and I am doing a small bit to help the environment.

... or instead of buying all of these new
items, use
items you already have around the house — old purses (for girls), tupperware, visit second - hand stores for
cloth napkins... it's hard to get excited about «be a green parent» articles, blog entries, and websites that just tell us to go buy something b / c it is green... even the Waste Free Lunch website tries to sell us on how much less it costs to pack a lunch, saying that
cloth napkins, lunch bag,
reusable containers and thermoses don't cost anything while tabulating the cost of paper / disposable versions... but there is an initial layout, so that argument doesn't hold my attention.
This includes
cloth diapers, eco-friendly clothing and related accessories,
reusable cloth products, green cleaning supplies, organic products, natural bath & body, eco-friendly beauty products, and
items made from recycled materials.
My own kids have fabric sandwich wraps and snack bags, bring
cloth napkins, and have other food
items in washable,
reusable containers.
Avoid grocery - store waste by bringing
reusable totes,
cloth bags for dry bulk
items, and jars for wet
items such as cheese and deli foods.
Buy
reusable items instead of throwaway ones — for example, rechargeable batteries, washable
cloth napkins and canvas shopping bags.
