Not exact matches
seems to reflect the general mess that the
club is now in... rent seeking owner disinterested in the game, delusional
manager who continues to believe the game is played in his own head rather
than against
other teams who are strengthening, too many players in some positions too few in
others, inflated wage bill due to hanging on to deadwood players, injury prone before season starts, lack of footballing identity... wexit a necessary but probably not sufficient condition for
club to regain its status
I and a lot of
others out there spend our hard earned money in support of this
club and we deserve a hell of a lot more respect
than what we are getting at this time, what
other club would tolerate this
managers performances?
If Arsene Wenger is to stay on for another year or more as the
manager of Arsenal Football
Club, a lot of fans will not be happy but there will be little we can do about it
other than hope that the Frenchman will realise that he needs to have Arsenal much more competitive and fighting for a major trophy like the Premier League title or the Champions League.
A new
manager would bring tactics which would be nice but I am not going to delude myself into thinking it will all be fixed with a new
manager, it takes more
than a
manager to run a top
club and those
other areas need to act like a top
club.
I hope for the sake of our
club that this man is none
other than Pep not ancelloti or klopp both are decent
managers but i'm not impressed by them.
That aspect of Arsenal's business model is perhaps under more scrutiny now
than at any
other time during Arsene Wenger's reign as
manager of the
club.
I also believe that Wenger wields more power at Arsenal
than other managers at
other clubs but I see that an issue that the board needs to sort out.
But as we know, Wenger wields more power at Arsenal,
than any
other manager in the world at their respective
clubs.
Besides several teams who have questions surrounding one or possibly two players, there is no squad that has so many issues heading into the final week of the transfer window... even Monaco, who have lost numerous players from their starting 11 have less controversy swirling in and around their
club and they have champion's league play to contend with this season... just think of how ridiculous this situation is especially considering that we have had the same
manager for over 20 years... no team should be better organized
than ours... if nothing else, that should be the one advantage this team holds over all
others, yet the exact opposite has occurred... this fact is even more disturbing considering the main argument against removing Wenger from his managerial position was that there was no suitable replacement and that people feared some sort of perceived drop - off if a new
manager was brought into the mix... based on what we've witnessed since the time of his contract renewal a monkey with a magic eight ball could have done an adequate job... I hate to make jokes, in light of our current dilemma, but this team is so screwed up if I don't laugh about it, the only plausible response is to either cry or do something incredibly destructive... just look around this squad and try to see what our delusional
manager sees that allow him to make such positive statements about our current team
Not only is he the
manager, but he has more control at Arsenal
than any
other manager does at their respective
clubs (maybe bar City, as they think Pep is a god).
Wengers job during that period was to maintain CL football and a profit, well I have come to that conclusion after looking at the facts surronding what has actually happened rather
than rumors, he is paid well because he managed to do something which
other managers have failed at... being a selling
club and still maintaining regular CL football.
OF course you can't blame him for everything, but everything football related yes he runs that side of the
club without interference from anyone, here is a man who blames everything and everyone
other than ever looking at himself when the team loses a game, for how many years has the
club been crying out for a world - class dm, he refused to buy player's to compliment ozil and Sanchez, yes 100 percent, a better
manager would get more from the same players..
Sorry if I sound rude but ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH How many people will believe the BS written about Wenger being some kind of god at Arsenal, yes he has more power
than other managers at
other clubs but that is because he has EARNED it!
I did not like it when you said «I know you are not an Arsenal fan» just because he has comments you didn't like... We moan not because we lost a single match or a couple of matches rather
than the system runs this
club... Wenger is the arrowhead of the system, didn't he say he has a strong say of how things running in this
club... We see moaning and raising banners and chants toward the board and the
manager might have a positive effect, you see it the
other way, that's all... BTW I like your reply this time...
and guess what
manager brought more success to ur
club more
than any
other.
Whilst I agree that Kroenke is huge problem as well as Wenger, and that our next
manager may face the same financial restrictions, one has to acknowledge that even with these restrictions, Arsenal are still better off
than almost every
other club in the premiership and have one of highest wage bills in the world.
I'm so sick of people telling those of us who are disgruntled fans to relax and give this
club time to correct itself... for anyone who believes that taking a wait - and - see approach is appropriate at this juncture they should take a good long look at themselves in the mirror because they are a big part of the problem... no
other «big»
club's fans would stand for this shit for nearly as long as we have... think about it, we've witnessed a changing of the guard at every major
club in England, Spain, France and Germany in the last several years because those «big»
clubs failed to live up to expectations (Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG, Chelsea, ManU, ManCity etc...)... for some reason, many fans have become as fragile as our current
manager, believing that there couldn't possibly be a suitable replacement, even though everyone of these
clubs have found multiple replacements and still achieved far more
than our
club... this mindset has been created by an organization that has been milking it's fans, telling countless lies (no world class players available) and lowering expectations every since they rolled out the biggest lie of all: that we couldn't spend because of the new stadium but once it was paid off we could compete with any team in the world... this organization is rotting from the inside out and if we don't demand that those in charge put soccer first this despicable behaviour won't end with Wenger's ridiculous 2 year contract... I think the real fear isn't that a suitable replacement doesn't exist, but that this organization is so money hungry and poorly mismanaged that we will sink even lower by choosing our next coach the same way they choose our players, on the cheap... even so, we need to see what mustache will do if left to his own devices so he will have to show his true colours... only then can we purge this
club and start anew
Well written, but I think it will fall on deaf ears, my fear is as follows, it will take a loss in money for the
manager and board to change, this will only come if we finish out of the top 4, but knowing the board they would still give home a season to try again, I feel very sorry for Sanchez, he is total quality and deserves better, most of the
other players look settled, turn up give70 % and get paid, no matter what level you play at you should come off the pitch thinking I gave everything, how many of our players could say that, they lack motivation, player for player we are as good if not better
than athletico Madrid but they have a manger that gets 100 % out of every player, Klopp is the same, but why would they leave their
clubs to come here with a boar that cares about money not entertainment, Wenger was a lucky
manager he inherited a top defence now his luck has run out
no man, player of
manager, or any
other member of staff, are bigger
than our
club.
The Man United
manager Jose Mourinho moaned the
other day that he wasn't given enough money to compete with the oil - rich moneybags of man City, but Arsene Wenger says that Jose is already at one of the richest
clubs but he is just going to have to get used to Man City having more finances
than himself.
This
Manager would have been sacked 10 years ago at any
other Top Premier League
club for his complete mis - management which has led to us being in a far worse position
than when he took over and made us the current laughing stock of European Football.
In any
other instance when a player rebels against the
club and coach for whatever reason there is no room for doubt, disciplinary actions must be taken, even when he is your best player...... it could be the case even for SANCHEZ, those words no player is greater than the Club are well understood, the problem in this case is that a growing majority of the Fans are fed up with the Club and Manager, years of frustration, deception nothing changing and doing nothing about it has the great majority of Fans siding with the Player against the Club and Manager...... unfortunately both lost the respect of most ARSENAL fans, there is a revolt brewing YES like every year the difference this year is that losing Sanchez will not go without consequence

there is no doubting that Arsene has helped to provide us with some incredible footballing moments in the formative years of his managerial career at Arsenal, but that certainly doesn't and shouldn't mean that he has earned the right to decide when and how he should leave this
club... there have been numerous
managers at each of the biggest
clubs in Europe throughout the last decade who have waged far more successful campaigns
than ours yet somehow and someway each were given their walking papers because they failed to meet the standards laid out by the hierarchy of their respective
clubs... of course that doesn't mean that
clubs should simply follow the lead of
others, especially if
clubs of note have become too reactionary when it comes to issues of termination, for whatever reasons, but there should be some logical discourse when it comes to the setting of parameters for a changing of the guard... in the case of Arsenal, this sort of discourse was largely stifled when the higher - ups devised their sinister plan on the eve of our move to the Emirates... by giving Wenger a free pass due to supposed financial constraints he, unwittingly or not, set the bar too low... it reminds me of a landlord who says he will only rent to «professional people» to maintain a certain standard then does a complete about face when the market is lean and vacancies are up... for those who rented under the original mandate they of course feel cheated but there is little they can do, except move on, especially if the landlord clearly cares more about profitability
than keeping their word... unfortunately for the lifelong fans of a football
club it's not so easy to switch allegiances and frankly why should they, in most cases we have been around far longer
than them... so how does one deal with such an untenable situation... do you simply shut - up and hope for the best, do you place the best interests of those with only self - serving agendas above the collective and pray that karma eventually catches up with them, do you run away with your tail between your legs and only return when things have ultimately changed, do you keep trying to find silver linings to justify your very existence, do you lower your expectations by convincing yourself it could be worse or do you stand up for what you believe in by holding people accountable for their actions, especially when every fiber of your being tells you that something is rotten in the state of Denmark
A clued up
manager, as all the
other top five have, would not have more
than half our likely top 15 players anywhere near their
club.
Joining a
club of arsenal s stature has its ups and downs. There is a requirement of how our players should perform when on the pitch. The following is a list of players who were wrong to choose arsenal.Aaron ramsey - Even though he is the most favoured of all players at the
club now.I cant help but think how it would have gone for Him if he decided to search for
other greener pastures. He was a clear talented footballer during his time at cardiff but he hasnt been raised with the discipline at arsenal. You can always see ramseys all round strengths but sadly Its not helping him or the
club with his foward moving pleasurr. He is so Over used and its sometimes difficult for him to get used to the rythm of the game. With time you realise he gets low ib confidence and his engine gets wasted. He needed somebody who would have managed him properly and with care and that person is certainpy not wenger. You would have been better off at Manu mate.Calum chambers - Came us a very talented player from southampton with raw talent. He was very good at first but wenger found a way to reduce his level of confidence. His inexperience was left exposed and wenger did nt do anything to resolve that problem and instead He looked for
other talented players.Alex oxlade chamberlain - Another very talented player who needed only his skilled sharpened and his character modelled. That and he was ready to become a world beater. But wenger decided to let him run and run like a headless chicken causing him to be often injured and damaging his confidence.Who knows what would have happened to him gad he decided to look for more greener pasture. He is surely a much better player
than this.Theo walcott - Another player who was tipped to have a very bright future. He had it in him.But all he needed was an appropriate
manager who would nurture him with discipline and help him with his talent. But on Coming to arsenal he was given Much more responsiblities putting more weight on his shoulders on top of that another player who was recklessly managed with his talent and never coming off age because his character wasnt properly shaped.Mesut ozil - Al right i agree he perfoms well just recently. But imagine all the legendary players he was often compared to during his time at real madrid. On coming to arsenal he found no rotation often overused, suffered many injuries and his confidence dwindled. It is pretty clear arsene does not take any responsibility for players. And when at arsenal you have to be your own
manager. You need not rely on your
manager otherwise you might continue being the same player for the next many years. That is why each and every player are what they are because of their own efforts and wenger had nothing to do with it.Van persie was the same player for over 7 years untill he himself decided to change.Wenger only organises and prepares tge team while the rest is in your court. It is not what so many people make it out to be.Thats why we need to pressure wenger more
than our own players. They are their own self
managers and wenger needs to take that responsibility
All this stuff with DoF, Primorac and Colbert supposedly leave, Bellerin, Sanchez, Ox, Ozil and so on are just
club PR to shift the weight on
other things
than the
manager.
But one way or the
other and sooner rather
than later the
club is going to have to get a new
manager.
Other clubs pay more
than that paying off
managers they continually sack.
Find me another
manager that has had a bigger and better influence at a
club than Le Prof
other than these men and get him in the dugout.
Good article with plenty of variations each way.To my mind AFC as a
club should have been tying Sánchez down 2 years ago, and Ozil should have been included at the same time.We could see how good they were and that
clubs with more ambition and forward thinking
than us (NOTE - Wenger and the Board you f *** ing TWATS) would gladly offer them better terms financially. These 2 are as good as we could possibly have and we have allowed this situation to happen.Sure Sanchez has gone for the wages but can you blame him?If he was tied down on a contract like he should have been then it would be us calling the shots and not Sánchez and his agent. So the answer is NO I'm more angry with the Board and Management
than the player who will soon be playing under the most hated
manager of all time. They deserve each
other.
That again proves how much power he has, which makes him more accountable
than any
other manager at their respective
clubs.
As he has said it before he is an attacking
manager and will find a workable solution like monreal who had 2 clean sheets and now went for the third got hit in the face, The
club have protected him and here we are asked to cut him some slack.well guess what he gets opportunities to redeem himself more
than any
other in his line of work
Sad when ex-players from opposition teams and current
managers of
other teams are more positive about the Arsenal team
than their own fans — whom instead of supporting the team and rallying around the
club do their utmost to undermine it.
Um pesonal experiments sorry nobody gave him 150million pounds to sign eonaldo or messi or 100 million pounds to sign a player oh plus another 400million to fill out the
other ten sorry he was given ants and has still won our record signing 55million i mean
other teams are able to spend more on bench sore pine slivered second strings
than hes been on starters over the years and hes still won only
manager invincible oh and then when the
other clubs new we were low on cash and winning started injuring our star players and do nt say it does nt happen cause it does um he still won whole given ants to spend hes done amazing extend please one or to bad seasons compared to twenty great seasons and had our strikers finished their chances this year in 5 or six key matches we'd be sitting pretty reall only 3 or two and a draw or saw and we'd be sittingin the thick of itextend now that the board an owner are willing to spend snails for him finally atleast a little more
than ants cause of inflation
Yes arsenal burnley and Leucester can still make top 4... None of them will however... Though one of the three is among the richest
clubs in Europe charges fans highest prices to watch them and pays it's
manager more
than the
other two
managers combined..
i personally don, t care, some fans think we should have won the pl i agree this was a good opportunity missed but there are reasons why the
other big guns failed this season, maureen lost the dressing room and was fired, man city decided to announce a new
manager, united few years ago decided to hire the wrong
manager for the
club, liverpool decide to succumb to the fans / media pressure and changed
manager... it just shows that it all comes down to how a
club is run so arsenal should be given credits for running the
club the way they do (don, t get me wrong all is not perfect) they could have decided to sack wenger due to pressure but didn, t, wenger despite his flaws & the team going through a difficult patch partly due to injuries managed to keep the players on board and steer us to 2nd place, my point is that winning the pl is not a given right and i truly believe
than this time around arsene heard the discontent fans and will make the signings necessary, COYG!!
«We understand winning is a little more realistic for some
clubs than others,» says Kelly, who's entering his 14th year as the Twins»
manager, the longest tenure of any current
manager or head coach in American professional sports.
On the
other hand Arsenal is a bigger
club than Everton and why could a
manager not want to manage a big
club?
Man city have a squad that we can only dam of, I'm negative because Im tired of scraping through and yet paying more
than any
other fans for my season ticket, im fed up with hearing bullsh!t from our
manager, had enough of losing by embarrassing score lines to
clubs that have more ambition
than us, Im annoyed at haring about players that became world wide successes that Wenger turned down or could have got but didn't, I hate that there's never any positive news on Arsenal, and most o all I am gutted that we have only on one tropy in ten years and ta its not sowing any ign of improving but plenty of signs of going backyards.
On a tangent Jon my son (he's 4) asked me why he should support Arsenal, I said «well because I do, you're granddad does and your great granddad did» I was going to say its because of the values and principles that our
club has but then I stopped myself because I have no idea what they are anymore
other than paying a has been
manager and over hyped players a fortune for non achievement while being owned by a majority shareholder that has no interest in the
club other than as a business and having a board that view the fans as the gift that keeps on giving.
I know that a lot of Arsenal fans and
other people in the football world looking in will blame Arsene Wenger for any and all problems that affect the
club, and to a certain extent they are right because the bick does top with the boss and Wenger has more power at Arsenal
than most
managers are allowed.
Many people in the game, not just Arsenal fans, feel that Wenger deserves more respect after his years of service to the
club and that he has overseen the recent lean years better
than any
other manager could.
Wenger said» Chelsea is above everybody else»... The man got some «balls» when you know that you could do something about it... Mourinho is above you and better
than you (that is just a fact) and that is he is criticising the French
manager because he knows that at any
other club he would have been sacked without a glimpse of shadow.
as long as this guy monreal areteta flamini and ramsey are the basis of our defence and the link to forward play arsenal will be nothing
other than a 4th place team... at best... this has been obvious for 3 years now and the only reason we are in this position is the
manager... greed and stupidity are at the root of the problem and a 3 year 8m quid contract is indicative of a
club that is rotting at the core
This is a decent article, yet the negatives from fans are still there, I would love to see arsenal like I did at the end of the 90's and at the beggining of the 2nd millennium but it doesn't mean in order to do so I would buy all the best players in world, I would get a rich owner to put his filthy money in, change the
manager every 2 years to do so, there's so much wrong in football nowadays that yes it's still a sport but there's more focus on the filthy amounts of money being spent on
clubs and players that I think attracts more attention
than the game itself, now that is wrong and it's very wrong, even our owner though not like the arabs or Russians, yet the yank is clueless about the tradition of our game, it's just sad, so the fact that Wenger has remained for this long through all these changes that have occurred whilst the money game has elvolved, it makes me happy that arsenal do not spend stupid amounts of money on players, we don't try and buy the league, hell we even tight with wages and transfer fees, I'm glad it's like that, though our season ticket is a rip off I still don't mind it because at least we are not like the
other supreme teams, there's a bit of tradition left at our
club, yet you go to man shitty or Chelski, there is no tradition, it's all about buying ur way all the way to the top, on the
other hand spuds don't know what to make of them besides how the heck have they finished above us?
The amount of time along with respect that we have given Wenger due to his early work of greatness, this will tell
managers that Arsenal is a better place to be
than any
other big
club regarding job security.
When it comes to Spending money, Wenger has to be the shrewdest
manager in the world of football and that's probably why the media seem to concentrate more on Arsenal fc
than any
other club, during the transfer windows.
Alan Pardew is starting to win over the fans, and the players are committed to the
club — something thatâ $ ™ s been severely lacking for the past few years. With a
manager who knows more
than he lets on, and players who play for each
other, a top - ten finish is well within our grasp.
I am compelled to a feeling of utter contempt and carelessness from Wenger when it comes to the fans, he really diesnt give a damn about what we think as long as his way is being had and whether he is proved right, or for the 8th year, wrong that is still not the correct way to be, he should not be ruling the
club from top to bottom in this way because he thinks nobody knows better
than him, no
other manager holds this power, not even the ones delivering silverware.
In the 2012/13 Premier League season Cech made 118 saves - «far more
than any
other goalkeeper at a
club pushing for a top - four spot - «as Chelsea's central defence revolved in front of him, with concerns over John Terry's fitness and David Luiz's fitness for purpose as a centre - back, while behind him the crowd took vocal exception to the interim
manager.
