of lobbyists
out there for innovation (and
energy efficiency, for that matter), while there are potent forces fighting on the side
of coal companies and utilities, financial institutions eager to trade carbon credits, manufacturers and retailers
of today's consumer products.
I understand there will be very, very VERY difficult times ahead transitioning
out of coal and oil and into healthier
energy choices, but this is about oil profit, greed and a nation freaked
out right now about the dire many facets
of our economy, among other things.
I think this emerging form
of emissions accounting provides a valuable way to show how the growing
coal (and natural gas) greenhouse - gas emissions commitment will play
out, but — because
of the competing social and economic values embedded in that extracted
