When we first moved in to our home, I hung shoe organizers on the inside of
the coat closet doors to hold all of our scarves, gloves, and other accessories.

door, he takes off his

I've been thinking of putting in a halfwall and then pulling up the carpet to make a sort of hallway from the
door to the
coat closet, and giving it that separation from the living room.
We have an open dining room between the front

door with toddlers you are always in a hurry!So we ran some wiring.

doors you see in the photo used to be half this wide — it used to be a single
door coat closet.
You could relocate the
door to the kitchen by closing the current one and... a)... opening the wall at the top of the stairs (going to the current dinning room) b)... opening the living room wall opposite to the
coat closet in the corner closest to the
door c) both of the above giving you quick access to both spaces and a wall facing the entrance.
