No you do nt need to put a final
coat of clear wax after the dark wax, and yes you can buff it, but try to stick to buffing only areas that would get touched a lot... Looks more authentic that way!

After the last
coat of paint is dry, I cover the entire piece with a
coat of clear wax.
After that colour (I did two
coats of French linen), I
waxed the door with Annie Sloan Soft Wax in
Clear.

coat of clear wax and let it sit overnight.
