For a distressed look, sand back to reveal a little of the wood or paint underneath before applying a
second coat of wax.
After the paint application was completely to my liking, I painted on
several coats of the wax, using a round brush specifically for wax.
If you keep a
good coat of wax on the paint, the sun's rays will do less damage.
So always make sure to put a nice
fresh coat of wax on the TOP of your board before you paddle out.
I am not a fan of chalk paint on the table top either since it would need to have
additional coats of wax put on it as you used it.
Two to three
coats of wax on cabinets is the ideal as they will get more wear than a regular piece of furniture.
To achieve Annie's signature look, apply a
thin coat of wax over your painted surface with a small Chalk Paint ® Wax Brush.
For the piece that you waxed first, I would give it a couple more
coats of wax over the next couple months... that should greatly increase the durability.
I wanted a solid color on the table top so I decided to paint it Graphite and used clear and dark wax on the table top (and two
clear coats of wax on the rest).
If you care for the exterior of the vehicle, give the paint a proper wash, clay the surface and apply a
new coat of wax or sealant.
I try SO hard to apply a very thin
coat of wax using the ultimate brush, but the brush doesn't seem to move along the surface unless I have a fair amount on it.
This is the place where, like a
great coat of wax, your resume adds just the right amount of gleam to showcase what you have become.
Application of a light
coat of Waxing Cream or Clear Wax to your project piece first is like buying insurance.
For pieces that we sell at my shop though, I always do a minimum of 2
coats of wax since I do not know how the piece will be treated once it is sold.
Our eternally popular peg rails look gorgeous even with just a
quick coat of wax or paint them to match / contrast with the walls.
I then painted the ad using acrylic craft paint, sanded it down to distress it more, applied a clear coat of furniture wax then a
dark coat of wax to add to the aged look.
I let it dry completely
between coats of wax and buffed it with a nice clean dry cloth between coats.New knobs, of course.

new coat of wax and zip on the wetsuit, there's no better place to be than Surfrider Beach in Malibu.
Afterward, I applied a
second coat of wax to just the tops of all the pieces and again let them dry for 24 hours.
Using a square stiff brush this time, we applied
a coat of the wax just as we did the sealing wax.
I love chalk paint and usually put
a coat of wax on afterwards... Your chalky finish projects are beautiful, I love that wood slice clock especially!
I applied
a coat of wax when I was finished and then distressed some of the edges for a weathered look.
