The hemp oil makes the paint so soft — my pictures really aren't doing this dresser justice — it has so much depth in person, and because it actually soaks into the wood, I feel it's more durable than just
a coat of wax on the top.
So always make sure to put a nice fresh
coat of wax on the TOP of your board before you paddle out.
If you keep a good
coat of wax on the paint, the sun's rays will do less damage.
So start out winter with a good
coat of wax on your exterior.

Annie Sloan instructs people to apply a

coat of the dark, but I have seen that it is much more streaky (which may or may not be the look you're going for) rather than an even aged look.
