If there is bleed through of the tannins or
stain in the wood after one
coat of chalk paint, you should use clear shellac
over the surface first, let dry, then apply another layer of chalk paint.

Over the next week or so, we'll be finishing
staining the front / back porch and deck, completing the fireplace surround and hearth, putting the final

I know it seems odd to choose white for a messy playroom table, but... what I love about white is that when it does get dinged up and
stained, I just slap another
coat of Alabaster
over top.

stain with a water - based emulsion won't help; the
stain will keep showing through, however many
coats you use.
I put a (removable) laminate floor
over my hideously
stained linoleum and put a fresh
coat of paint
over the cabinets, it made a world of difference!
We actually used 2
coats of polyurethane
over the
stain.
