Do first
coat of poly on the counters, second coat on the cabinets and then second
coat of poly on the main wood floor.
- The hardwood guys came back yesterday to do the final
coat of poly on the wood, but used the wrong sheen (matte instead of high - gloss).
Did you have to put
a coat of poly on it or did you just stain it??
Cy got up at 3:30 am this morning to put the second

It took about three days — one to lay and stain — the second day in the morning we put
on the first
coat of poly, a few hours later did the second

We didn't use a stain
on the countertops; we just sealed it with a no - color
poly and then used Waterlox (a food - grade sealant) and put multiple

When I redid my old wood floors the suggestion for the
poly was to put two
coats of glossy
poly on, followed by a
coat of satin.

I have never put wax
on my furniture before, only SPRAYED several
coats of poly....
The wipe -
on is thinner than regular
poly, so it dries quicker — I like the wipe -
on because its easy, and MOA free... but because
of this, I'd apply a minimum
of 3
coats — no brainer because it will go very quick.
Over that I rubbed one
coat of wipe
on poly.
Commercial grade, food safe, glossy or matte depending
on your tastes, durable as heck... and though it takes some know - how, probably not all that much more labor intensive than brushing
on several
coats of poly.
