I love all the coconut in them, these look similar to
the coconut almond flavor from KIND bars.
Prior to ordering
the Coconut Almond flavor I had ordered the Vanilla Chai flavor from Bodybuilding.com and had gotten a much larger contain with 30 servings.
The Vega Protein and Greens (berry or
coconut almond flavor) is my absolute FAVE vegan protein powder, because of the ingredients and added greens, but also for the taste and super affordable price.
You could also use Vega One French Vanilla, Natural, or Vanilla Chai in this smoothie, but I have to say that
the Coconut Almond flavor was just the right touch!
I used
the Coconut Almond flavor here, which is now available online even though it used to be sold exclusively in Whole Foods stores.
Not exact matches
But here we make it a tad more special and extra delicious by cooking the oatmeal with pure apple juice / cider, spices, butter or
coconut oil and chopped
almonds for extra rich
flavor and texture.
The three
flavors include different combinations of organic peanut butter, oats, organic
coconut, non-GMO whey protein, honey, premium chocolate chips,

coconut oil while they are refusing the nut butters.

A couple of things though, I used
almond flour / meal (1 1/3 cup as recommended) and instead of honey or maple syrup, I used organic brown rice syrup, used the same amount as listed for maple syrup, AND I added a handful of unsweetened organic
coconut flakes for added texture and
flavor... turned out PERFECT!!

A classic simple syrup recipe +
flavoring... it could be fun to experiment with other extracts, as well (
coconut,

But once that is totally out of the equation, you can incorporate
flavors to your baked goods just by the choice of flour you use — suddenly you can choose from hazelnuts,
almonds,
coconut, quinoa, buckwheat, gosh the list of choices goes on and on and on.
I used my basic smoothie formula to come up with this Double Chocolate Chai Smoothie: 1 cup liquid like
almond milk or
coconut water, greens, creamy fruit like banana or mango, additional fruits and veggies, a little healthy fat, a little protein, a little fiber, a little stevia, additional nutrient boosters like cacao, maca, goji, acai, etc., and spices and / or
flavorings.
